Virtual Tour: Salem's New $1.1M Fire Truck

Salem firefighters are expected to begin training on the department's new truck sometime next month.

The Salem Fire Department's new $1.1 million fire apparatus is in Walpole and will soon be fitted with all the tools local firefighters will need to battle blazes in the Witch City, Fire Chief David Cody said Wednesday.

The new truck will be ready for service sometime in October, Cody said, and firefighters will begin training with the truck under the guidance of representative of Pierce Manufacturing, the company that assembled the apparatus, in the coming weeks.
