Salem Police Make Heroin Arrest on Washington Street

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: 


Wednesday, Jan. 8
:

  • At 5:52 p.m., police stopped a motor vehicle on Palmer Street. Jared Weymouth, 27, of 65 Palmer St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
  • At 6:36 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Roslyn Street. Luis E. Gomez Jr., 20, of 6 Roslyn St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of assault and battery.
  • At 6:55 p.m., police responded to a report of a past sexual assault on Traders Way.
  • At 7:54 p.m., police responded to a report of kids throwing water balloons at cars near the intersection of Lafayette and New Derby streets. Two people were stopped and told not to throw water balloons at vehicles.
  • At 10:25 p.m., police responded to a report of a man standing in front of Domino's Pizza wearing all black and a ski mask. The man told police he was just waiting for a ride.
  • At 10:56 p.m., police responded to a noise complaint near the intersection of Bridge and Beacon streets.

Thursday, Jan. 9

  • At 12:57 a.m., police stopped two men who were reportedly seen acting suspiciously on Front Street. Walhtin Puerto-Moreira, 30, of 56 Dow St., Salem, was arrested on charges of possessing counterfeit bills and uttering counterfeit bills.
  • At 1:20 a.m., a man arrested in Lynn was picked up by Salem police for having a local warrant. Bajrush I. Gjeta, 48, of 12 Sachem St., Lynn, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 2:32 a.m., police responded to a report of two people trespassing on Essex Street. Michael J. McCausland, 35, of 56 Margin St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of trespassing. Stephanie M. Candido, 22 ,of the streets of Salem, was arrested on a charge of trespassing.
  • At 7:51 a.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Essex Street.
  • At 12:26 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Lafayette Place.
  • At 12:42 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident at the Walgreens on New Derby Street. Bjorn A. Nichols, 20, of 22 Proctor St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting merchandise by concealment.
  • At 12:58 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Boston Street.
  • At 1:15 p.m., police conducted a well-being heck on Norman Street.
  • At 1:22 p.m., police made an arrest on Washington Street. Janine N. Wilson, 33, of 5 Alvin Road, Swampscott, was arrested for reportedly having three outstanding warrants.
  • At 2:16 p.m., officers reportedly witnessed a man acting suspiciously in the parking lot of the Dunkin' Donuts on Washington Street. John J. Frongillo, 59, of 15 Ives St., Beverly, was arrested on a charge of illegally possessing a class A substance (heroin).
  • At 2:33 p.m., police responded to a past assault on Federal Street.
  • At 2:48 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Lafayette Street.
  • At 3:05 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident at the CVS on Highland Avenue.
