Salem Police Blotter For Dec. 13-15, 2013

The following information was submitted by the Salem Police Department.

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log:

Friday, Dec. 13
:

  • At 4:21 p.m., the owner of the U-Haul on Jefferson Avenue called police to report that a van had been stolen overnight. The van was later located in Lynn.
  • At 6:48 p.m., the city officially announced a snow emergency.
  • At 9:16 p.m., police responded to a report of an assault in progress near the intersection of Broad and Winthrop streets. Ashley E. Lachance, 19, of the streets of Salem, was arrested on a charge of assault and battery and for reportedly having two outstanding warrants.
  • At 10:34 p.m., police responded to a past vehicle break-in on Canal Street.

Saturday, Dec. 14:

  • At 12:06 a.m., police responded to a report of a stolen package on Lynde Street.
  • At 1:30 a.m., police responded to a loud house party on Loring Avenue.
  • At 9:05 a.m., police responded to a report of a stolen package on Loring Avenue.
  • At 4:29 p.m., police responded to a report of ATVs driving up and down the street on Lathrop Street.
  • At 5:42 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Boston Street.
  • At 8:20 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute near the intersection of Lafayette Street and Ocean Avenue.
  • At 9:39 p.m., police responded to a report of a patron refusing to leave near the intersection of Washington and New Derby streets. Matthew J. Kowalski, 36, of 36R West St., Beverly, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
  • At 9:58 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Ropes Street.

    • At 1:51 a.m., police responded to a minor motor vehicle accident involving a police cruiser and a parked car on Porter Street.
    • At 3:13 a.m., police made an arrest on Lafayette Street. Vincent G. Delgado, 47, of 117 Lafayette St., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
    • At 8:44 a.m., the city's snow emergency was lifted.
    • At 9:44 a.m., police responded to a past moro vehicle break-in on Linden Street.
    • At 10:53 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Highland Avenue.
    • At 2:00 p.m., police responded to a dispute on Mason Street.
    • At 2:50 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident on Highland Avenue.
    • At 4:28 p.m., police and fire units responded to a report of water coming from a building on Carlton Street.

    Other Arrests:

    Panagiotis Mattheos, 38, of 20 Hawthorne St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct.

    Nicole C. Wright, 31, of 249 Curwin Circle, Lynn, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting merchandise by asportation.
