The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: 

Friday, June 13

  • At 4:07 p.m., police responded to a medical emergency on Oakland Street.
  • At 5:38 p.m., police responded to a report of people throwing bottles out of a car on Foster Street.
  • At 6:33 p.m., police made an arrest on Bridge Street. Brian D. Bechtal, 50, of 126 Bridge St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of illegally possessing a class B substance (cocaine). Jose G. Torres, 50, of 248 Washington St., Salem, was arrested on charges of illegally possessing a class B substance (cocaine) with intent to distribute.
  • At 9:22 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Bridge Street.
  • At 10:15 p.m., police responded to a noise complaint on High Street.
  • At 10:44 p.m., police responded to a report of a stolen guitar on Carrollton Street.

Saturday, June 14

  • At 12:32 a.m., police made an arrest on Highland Avenue. Darryl Stavros, 18, of 16 Ober St., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having three outstanding warrants.
  • At 1:53 a.m., police responded to a louse house party on Fowler Street.
  • At 2:42 a.m., police responded to a fireworks complaint on Hanson Street.
  • At 4:06 a.m., police responded to a vehicle fire on Proctor Street.
  • At 9:43 a.m., police responded to a shoplifting complaint at the Walgreens on New Derby Street.
  • At 1:14 p.m., police made an arrest on Gedney Street. Deshea K. St. Jacques, 30, of 14 Cherry St., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 4:22 p.m., police responded to a trash dumping complaint on North Street.
  • At 8:37 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Lafayette Street.
  • At 10:03 p.m., police responded to a fireworks complaint on Essex Street.
  • At 10:42 p.m., police responded to a past vehicle break-in on Bridge Street.

Sunday, June 15

  • At 1:21 a.m., police responded to a fireworks complaint on Proctor Street.
  • At 9:55 a.m., police responded to a report of people camping out in a cemetery on Boston Street.
  • At 12:22 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident involving a woman who "appeared high" after huffing from an aerosol can at the CVS at 426 Essex St. Susan D. Douglas, 31, of 18 Morris St., Lynn, was arrested on a charge of huffing toxic vapors and shoplifting merchandise by asportation. This is the second time Douglas has been arrested on the same charges this month.
  • At 1:16 p.m., an officer disposed of a bag of hypodermic needles discovered on Bridge Street.
  • At 2:39 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Ward Street.
  • At 3:15 p.m., police responded to a raccoon complaint on Harris Street.
  • At 3:58 p.m., police responded to a stalking complaint on Heritage Drive.
Other Arrest

Chaddy A. Aoude, 28, of 47 Gallows Hill Road, Salem, was arrested on a charge of trespassing.
