Salem Police Respond to Pumpkin Smashers on Broad Street

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: 


Monday, Oct. 14:

  • At 4:59 p.m., police made an arrest on Memorial Drive. Bradford B. Smith, 45, of 45 Memorial Drive, Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 5:18 p.m., police responded to a fireworks complaint on Boston Street.
  • At 5:55 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a cyclist on School Street.
  • At 5:59 p.m., police responded to a report of a fight at a bus stop on New Derby Street.
  • At 6:13 p.m., a Jefferson Avenue resident called police to report stolen medication.
  • At 6:32 p.m., police responded to a dispute between neighbors on Vale Street.
  • At 8:57 p.m., police responded to a disturbance on Orange Street.
  • At 9:42 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Bertuccio Avenue.
  • At 11:41 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Lafayette Street.

Tuesday, Oct. 15

  • At 12:16 a.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Gallows Hill Road.
  • At 2:53 a.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Lafayette Street.
  • At 7:56 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Derby Street.
  • At 7:58 a.m., police responded to a report of a motorcycle on fire on Bridge Street. Police were unable to locate the motorcycle. 
  • At 9:50 a.m., a landscaper called police to report that equipment was stolen from a garage on Flornece Street.
  • At 9:55 a.m., police received word that a motorcyclist had fallen off of his bike near the intersection of Washington Square North and Williams Street. The motorcyclist was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
  • At 12:16 p.m., a Beach Avenue man called police to report that a Rolex watch valued at $22,900 was stolen off of his dresser.
  • At 1:25 p.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Lafayette Street.
  • At 2:39 p.m., police responded to a disturbance at the Plummer Home for Boys on Winter Island Road. Isaih L. Gagnon, 18, of 37 Winter Island Road, Salem, was arrested on a charge of malicious destruction of property valued above $250.
  • At 3:28 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Highland Avenue.
  • At 3:41 p.m., police responded to a report of kids smashing pumpkins on Broad Street.
  • At 4:19 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Lafayette Street.
