Inappropriate Photography Reported on Essex Street

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: 


Monday, July 15

  • At 6:51 p.m., a Hersey Street man called police to report that he noticed one of his car door handles was bent out. 
  • At 7:10 p.m., police responded to a report of a man taking inappropriate photographs of a girl on Essex Street. The pair told responding officers they where just taking photos for her portfolio.
  • At 7:13 p.m., police stopped a motor vehicle near the intersection of Canal and Mill streets. Andres Gilderubio, 61, of 1 Pickering St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 7:34 p.m., police located a man known to have an outstanding warrant on New Derby Street. Ryan T. Murray, 26, of 33 Spring St., Lynn, was arrested for reportedly having two outstanding warrants.
  • At 8:41 p.m., police responded to a report of a dog off of its leash on Clifton Avenue.

Tuesday, July 16

  • At 12:36 a.m., police responded to a report of an injured animal on Rawlins Street. A possum that was hit by a car was put down.
  • At 12:46 a.m., police stopped a motor vehicle on Piedmont Street. Luis E. Gomez Jr., 19, of 6 Roslyn St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
  • At 1:26 a.m., a police officer on patrol noticed two men quickly abandon a kayak when they saw him coming. Jonathan K. Bellamy, 19, of 10 High St., Beverly, was arrested for reportedly possessing a large knife. Matthew R. Hennessey, 19, of 10 High St., Beverly, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and possessing a large knife.
  • At 2:39 a.m., police stopped a motor vehicle near the intersection of Tremont and Japonica streets. Aileen M. Dodge, 52, of 21 Knowlton St., Beverly, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license.
  • At 2:51 a.m., police responded to a report of two people sleeping under a bridge on Congress Street. The people were moved along.
  • At 10:15 a.m., a Beaver Street man called police to report that someone threw a brick through the windshield of his car.
  • At 1:14 p.m., police responded to a reported hit-and-run motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Lafayette and Roslyn streets.
  • At 1:31 p.m., police responded to a report of a wire down on Becket Street.
  • At 2:15 p.m., a woman called police to report that a one-year-old baby was locked inside of a car. The fire department responded and opened the car for the woman. The baby was found to be in good health.
Andrew M. Noya, 25, of 159 Fort Ave., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
