Salem Man Arrested on Assault Charges

The following information was submitted by the Salem Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: 


Thursday, Nov. 28


  • At 6:05 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Rawlins Street.
  • At 8:18 p.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious package on Lemon Street.
  • At 11:34 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Boston Street. 

Friday, Nov. 29

  • At 3:20 a.m., police responded to a loud house party on Mason Street.
  • At 9:07 a.m., police responded to a dispute between landlord and tenant on Ropes Street.
  • At 9:22 a.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Turner Street.
  • At 9:56 a.m., police took custody of a man arrested at the Lynn Police Station. Linda A. Grieco, 58, of 73 Tracy Ave., Lynn, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 10:21 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Norton Terrace.
  • At 10:47 a.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Turner Street.
  • At 11:56 a.m., police responded to a report of an abandoned dog on Bridge Street. The dog was taken to a local shelter.
  • At 1:02 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Fairfield Street.
  • At 1:33 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Linden Street.
  • At 3:35 p.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious package on Walter Street.
Other Arrests:

William J. Keenan, 24, 82 Webb St., Salem, was arrested on charges of assault and battery and disorderly conduct.

Matthew C. Singley, 25, of 3 Turner St., Salem, was arrested on two counts of domestic assault and battery and two counts of malicious destruction of property valued above $250.
