Suspicious Activity Reported Near Salem Harbor Power Station

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log:


Sunday, Nov. 3


  • At 4:28 p.m., a man entered the police station to turn himself in. Robert Beauparlant, 50, of the streets of Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 7:01 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Heritage Drive. 
  • At 8:36 p.m., police responded to a medical overdose on Clark Avenue.

Monday, Nov. 4

  • At 1:28 a.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity near the Salem Harbor Power Station on Fort Avenue. Two people told police they were on vacation and were just trying to take photos of the power plant at night. The pair were advised to stay off of power plant property. 
  • At 7:59 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Mason Street.
  • At 8:23 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Rainbow Terrace.
  • At 9:46 a.m., a Lemon Street man entered the police station to report that the front license plate may have been stolen off of his vehicle. 
  • At 10:34 a.m., police responded to a dispute between landlord and tenant on Perkins Street.
  • At 10:55 a.m., police responded to a dispute between landlord and tenant on Essex Street.
  • At 11:47 a.m., police responded to a report of a skunk running around on Roslyn Court.
  • At 11:51 a.m., a Jefferson Avenue resident called police to report that one of her tires may have been slashed.
  • At 12:59 p.m., a woman entered the police station to turn herself in. Jennifer Deinstadt, 34, of 32 School St., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having three outstanding warrants.
  • At 1:38 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Williams Street. 
  • At 1:51 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Bridge Street.
  • At 2:35 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident on Highland Avenue.
