Salem Police Make Drug Arrest on Bridge Street

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: 

Friday, May 16

  • At 3:04 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident on North Street.
  • At 3:07 p.m., police responded to a loose dog complaint on Lafayette Street.
  • At 3:09 p.m., police responded to a past hit-and-run motor vehicle accident on Highland Avenue.
  • At 3:25 p.m., police responded to a report of a raccoon acting strangely on Harris Street.
  • At 4:58 p.m., police made an arrest on Hancock Street. Heath M. Brooks, 43, of 29 Hancock St., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 6:41 p.m., police responded to Ristorante Gioia on Washington Street after a fake $50 bill was passed. The fake bill was taken as evidence.
  • At 7:42 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Colonial Terrace.
  • At 8:16 p.m., police made an arrest on St. Peter Street. James F. Wright, 65, of 45 St. Peter St., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 8:57 p.m., police responded to a report of a past larceny on Leggs Hill Road. 
  • At 9:52 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Emerton Street.
  • At 11:26 p.m., police made an arrest near the intersection of Canal Street and Ocean Avenue. Edgar F. Pimentel Jr., 28, of 4 Dalton Court, Peabody, was arrested for reportedly having two outstanding warrants.

Saturday, May 17

  • At 12:04 a.m., police responded to a report of erratic operation of Highland Avenue.
  • At 1:19 a.m., a man found sleeping in a vehicle on Bridge Street was placed into protective custody.
  • At 2:22 a.m., police responded to a fight on Winthrop Street. 
  • At 2:47 a.m., police responded to a report of people ringing a doorbell on Essex Street.
  • At 5:37 a.m., police responded to a water main break near the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and Winthrop Street.
  • At 6:44 a.m., police made an arrest on Salem Street.
  • At 7:46 a.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Intervale Road.
  • At 12:08 p.m., an officer disposed of a hypodermic needle discovered on Blaney Street.
  • At 3:03 p.m., a resident entered the police station to turn over an old shotgun for destruction.
  • At 4:51 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident at the Walgreens on New Derby Street. Barry E. Bullock, 55, of the streets of Salem, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting merchandise by asportation.
  • At 5:47 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Ward Street.
  • At 7:57 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Margin Street.
  • At 9:03 p.m., police responded to a loud party on Loring Avenue.
  • At 9:12 p.m., police responded to a past vehicle break-in on Traders Way.
  • At 9:17 p.m., police stopped a motor vehicle near the intersection of Lafayette and Palmer streets. Aimee M. Shea, 28, of 113 The Heights Cape Ann, Gloucester, was arrested on charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle while in possession of an open container of alcohol.
  • At 9:36 p.m., police responded to a report of eggs being thrown at cars on South Liberty Hill Avenue.
  • At 11:34 p.m., police responded to a report of a rowdy group not letting cars leave outside of The Black Lobster on Bridge Street. Isaac B. Suggs, 41, of 110 Newhall St., Lynn, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, carrying a dangerous weapon (switchblade) and illegally possessing a class B substance, subsequent offense.

Sunday, May 18

  • At 12:31 a.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Bridge Street.
  • At 12:37 a.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Salem Street.
  • At 12:43 a.m., police responded to a fight on Washington Street.
  • At 1:15 a.m., police responded to a loud house party on Peabody Street.
  • At 2:24 a.m., police responded to a report of someone sleeping in a motor vehicle on Derby Street.
  • At 9:28 a.m., police responded to a past assault on Loring Avenue.
  • At 9:43 a.m., police responded to a sudden death on Boston Street.
  • At 10:47 a.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Ocean Terrace.
  • At 11:18 a.m., police responded to a past vehicle break-in on Turner Street.
  • At 11:26 a.m., police responded to a report of three kids sitting near the railroad tracks on Jefferson Avenue. All three were arrested on a charge of trespassing and were written a citation for possession of marijuana.
  • At 11:28 a.m., police responded to a report of motorcyclists filming themselves while driving on Derby Street.
  • At 12:34 p.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Ocean Terrace.
  • At 2:08 p.m., police responded to a report of wires down on Summit Avenue.
  • At 2:23 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Palmer Street.
  • At 4:13 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on  Geneva Street.
Other Arrest

Francisco Berrios, 25, of 225 South Common St., Lynn, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
