Salem Police Arrest Alleged Drug Dealer on Canal Street

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log:


Wednesday, Feb. 26:

  • At 4:08 p.m., police responded to a dog complaint on Fort Avenue.
  • At 4:16 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident at the CVS on Essex Street.
  • At 5:02 p.m., police responded to a report of a loose pit bull near the intersection of Mason and Dunlap streets.
  • At 7:04 p.m., police made an arrest on Canal Street. After a month-long investigation into the illegal sale of crack cocaine an arrest warrant was sought. Eduardo M. Leon, 37, of 68 Henry Ave., Lynn, was arrested on charges of possessing a class A substance (heroin) with intent to distribute, two counts of possessing a class B substance with intent to distribute (cocaine, crack cocaine), possession with intent to distribute in a school zone and for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 9:27 p.m., police responded to a dispute on Essex Street.
  • At 9:34 p.m., police responded to a report of an injured possum on Tremont Street. A dead skunk was located near the side of the road and the DPW was notified.

Thursday, Feb. 27

  • At 12:20 a.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious man trying a door on Pioneer Terrace.
  • At 12:23 a.m., police made an arrest on Northend Avenue. Kristina M. Paradis, 25, of 16 Northend Ave., Salem, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.
  • At 5:06 a.m., police responded to a dispute on Lafayette Street.
  • At 9:37 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Hayes Road.
  • At 10:22 a.m., police made an arrest on Federal Street. Paul G. Quintiliani, 49, of 583 Main St., Haverhill, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 10:30 a.m., police made an arrest on Federal Street. Coutney M. Buffum, 30, of 77 Veterans Way, Gloucester, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 10:52 a.m., police made an arrest on Essex Street. Anthony B. Perry, 54, River House, Beverly, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 11:15 a.m., police responded to a report of a fight between students at the Charter School on Essex Street.
  • At 11:45 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Lafayette Street.
  • At 12:03 p.m., police responded to a past hit-and-run motor vehicle accident on Church Street.
  • At 12:37 p.m., police received word that a pedestrian had been struck in a parking lot of Puleos on Highland Avenue. A citation was issued to the driver for failure to use care while backing up.
  • At 1:07 p.m., police made an arrest near the intersection of Lafayette and Harbor streets. Christopher L. Bonilla, 25, of 23 Ward St., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 2:39 p.m., police responded to a past hit-and-run motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Lafayette and Leach streets.

Other Arrests

Rashaun Hendren, 21, of 2 Parlee St., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.

Cristian Cepeda, 20, of 24 Mason St., Salem, was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and walking on the railroad tracks.

Amy M. Gould, 31, of 19 Washington Park, Carver, was arrested on a charge of disturbing the peace.

Christal J. Gould, 32, of 127 Bridge St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of disturbing the peace.
