Alleged Drug Dealer Arrested Following Salem Traffic Stop

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: 

Thursday, Dec. 12:

  • At 5:11 p.m., police responded to a dispute on Highland Avenue.
  • At 7:05 p.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Washington Street.
  • At 7:22 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident at the Walmart on Highland Avenue.
  • At 9:06 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Highland Avenue.
  • At 10:26 p.m., police stopped a motor vehicle near the intersection of Washington and Harbor streets. Andres E. Reyes, 21, of 56 Dow St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of possessing a class D substance (marijuana) with intent to distribute.

Friday, Dec. 13

  • At 12:41 a.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious motor vehicle on Clark Avenue.
  • At 9:30 a.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on South Street.
  • At 1:19 p.m., police responded to a disturbance on Highland Avenue.
  • At 1:58 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Bridge Street.
  • At 4:10 p.m., police responded to a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident on North Street. 
Other Arrest:

Isaac J. Gaines, 26, of 7 Holten St., Peabody, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
