Salem Police Make Drug Arrest on Lafayette Street

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: 

Sunday, Dec. 22

  • At 4:38 p.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Boston Street.
  • At 4:46 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident at the TJ Maxx on Traders Way. Marlo J. Centamore, 35, of 14 Holten St., Peabody, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting merchandise by concealment.
  • At 8:01 p.m., police responded to a report of kids throwing snowballs at traffic on Bridge Street.
  • At 8:28 p.m., police made an arrest on Congress Street. Patrick J. Devine, 25, of the streets of Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 9:11 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Washington Street.
  • At 11:08 p.m., police responded to a reported fight in a parking lot on Boston Street.

Monday, Dec. 23

  • At 1:40 a.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Federal Street. Katherine D. Gillen, 22, of 45 Federal St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.
  • At 2:35 a.m., police responded to a loud party on Courageous Court.
  • At 6:04 a.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Lafayette Street. Rodger Parker, 32, of 173 Lafayette St., Salem, was arrested on charges of aggravated assault and battery, two counts of illegally possessing a class B substance (cocaine, Percocet) and violatin the city's knife ordinance.
  • At 9:15 a.m., police responded to a dispute on Pickman Road.
  • At 10:41 a.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Weatherly Drive.
  • At 11:15 a.m., police made an arrest on Church Street. John J. Lapointe, 55, of the streets of Salem, was arrested on a charge of trespassing.
  • At 1:22 p.m., police responded to a dispute between neighbors on Lafayette Street.
  • At 2:46 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Ward Street.
  • At 3:00 p.m., police responded to a report of a downed tree limb on Highland Avenue.
  • At 3:01 p.m., police responded to a past vehicle break-in on Hamilton Street.
