Man Spotted 'Dancing' on Highland Avenue Guardrail Arrested

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: 


Thursday, Nov. 21


  • At 5:08 p.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Pleasant Street.
  • At 6:09 p.m., police responded to an animal complaint on Rainbow Terrace.
  • At 7:53 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Jefferson Avenue.
  • At 8:05 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Roslyn Street during which someone poured soda into a vehicle's gas tank. Police will seek an arrest warrant on a charge of malicious destruction of property valued above $250.
  • At 10:09 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident at the Walmart on Highland Avenue. Justin G. Thomas, 18, of 57 Bulfinch St., Lynn, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting merchandise over $100 and for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 10:19 p.m., police responded to a possible fight on Summer Street.
  • At 11:23 p.m., police responded to a loud party on First Street.

Friday, Nov. 22

  • At 12:02 a.m., police responded to a road rage incident near the intersection of Loring and Jefferson avenues.
  • At 1:11 a.m., Salem State University police made an arrest on Loring Avenue. Gavin M. Dineen, 21, of 50 Samosett St., Plymouth, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct.
  • At 1:25 a.m., police made an arrest on Porter Street. Martin Ozoria-Polanco, 22, of 10 Porter St., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 1:48 a.m., police responded to a loud party on Linden Street.
  • At 2:04 a.m., police responded to a loud party on Loring Avenue.
  • At 2:21 a.m., an officer driving on Highland Avenue reportedly noticed a man "dancing on the guard rail that separates the Highland Avenue inbound and outbound lanes." Matthew P. Mills, 24, of 63 Lynnway, Lynn, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct.
  • At 4:24 a.m., police responded to a report of a man threatening a woman with a firearm on Parlee Street.
  • At 7:30 a.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Weatherly Drive.
  • At 8:01 a.m., police made an arrest on Traders Way. Jeremy J. Bishop, 20, of 41 Federal St., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 8:13 a.m., a Hazel Street woman called police to report that she was being followed.
  • At 8:32 a.m., police made an arrest on Balcomb Street. Gabriel A. Cloutier, 29, of 48 Balcomb St., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 10:21 a.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Pope Street.
  • At 1:57 p.m., police responded to a report of illegal dumping on Traders Way.
  • At 2:01 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Norton Terrace.
  • At 4:09 p.m., police responded to a report of kids playing in the street on Franklin Street.
