Break-in Reported on High Street

The following information was submitted by the Salem Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.


The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: 


Saturday, Nov. 16


  • At 2:30 p.m., police responded to a dispute on Bridge Street.
  • At 2:58 p.m., a woman entered the police station to report that her car was stolen while parked on Sewall Street.
  • At 4:20 p.m., police responded to a dispute on Aborn Street.
  • At 5:19 p.m., a man entered the police station to report that his car was stolen.
  • At 6:01 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Dow Street.
  • At 7:07 p.m., a man dropped a dog off at the police station that he reportedly found wandering around on Wheatland Street. The owner came in and picked up the dog.
  • At 8:23 p.m., police responded to motor vehicle accident involving a deer on Willson Street. A man told police he struck a deer and the animal ran off into the woods. The man's vehicle reportedly suffered front-end damage and police found that he was driving on a suspended license.
  • At 9:28 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian on Marlborough Road. Salem firefighters, state police and local detectives were called to the scene. Two vehicles were towed from the area. A Lynn man was reportedly killed in the accident. A woman is still in critical condition.  Click Here for our full story.
  • At 11:21 p.m., police made an arrest near the intersection of Derby and Lafayette streets.
  • At 11:59 p.m., police responded to a report of a dog struck by a motor vehicle on Loring Avenue.

Sunday, Nov. 17

  • At 1:19 a.m., police responded to a loud house party on Harbor Street.
  • At 2:18 a.m., police responded to a possible fight near the intersection of Congress and Dow streets.
  • At 6:46 a.m., police stopped a motor vehicle near the intersection of Margin and Gedney streets. Sasha Santana, 24, of 80 Sagamore St., Lynn, was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license and for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 10:52 a.m., police responded to a possible break-in on High Street.

Other arrests:

Jeanmarie Lewis, 40, of 56 Margin St., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
