Salem Police Charge Lynn Man With Heroin Trafficking

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log:

Monday, June 16:

  • At 5:35 p.m., a Lynde Street woman called police to report of a man masturbating in her backyard. Police were unable to locate the man.
  • At 5:55 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident near the intersection of North and Mason streets.
  • At 6:20 p.m., police responded to a sudden death on Heritage Drive.
  • At 6:24 p.m., police responded to an accident between a cyclist and pedestrian at Salem Common.
  • At 6:51 p.m., police responded to a report of a drunk woman causing a disturbance on Highland Avenue. The woman was placed into protective custody.
  • At 8:22 p.m., police responded to a report of people throwing things out of a window on Loring Avenue.
  • At 8:39 p.m., police responded to a dispute between neighbors on Gardner Street.
  • At 8:46 p.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious motor vehicle on a Kernwood Street golf course.
  • At 8:55 p.m., police stopped a motor vehicle on Boston Street. Michelle L. Levesque, 21, of 16 Verdon St., Salem, was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, second offense and resisting arrest.
  • At 9:47 p.m., police responded to a possible fight on Park Street.
  • At 9:52 p.m., police responded to a past assault on Rice Street.
  • At 10:30 p.m., police responded to a report of people looking into motor vehicles on Pleasant Street.
  • At 10:40 p.m., police responded to a past assault on Fort Avenue.
     
Tuesday, June 17

  • At 12:08 a.m., police responded to a past break-in on Lafayette Street.
  • At 12:32 a.m., police responded to a domestic assault near the intersection of Bridge and Osgood streets. Shomari K. White, 19, of 3 Broughton Road, Marblehead, was arrested on a charge of assault and battery.
  • At 1:36 a.m., police conducted a well-being check near the intersection of Bridge and Lathrop streets.
  • At 2:44 a.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Lafayette Street.
  • At 6:44 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Appleton Street.
  • At 7:31 a.m., police responded to a past vehicle break-in on Ward Street.
  • At 9:35 a.m., police responded to a past vehicle break-in on Putnam Street.
  • At 10:30 a.m., police responded to a fight in the street on Park Street. Thomas Martinez-Ortiz, 20, of 225 S. Common St., Lynn, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, assault and battery, trafficking heroin and illegally possessing a class B substance (cocaine) with intent to distribute.
  • At 11:52 a.m., police responded to a report of an attempted fraud on Webb Street.
  • At 12:56 p.m., police responded to a report of a man videotaping a woman on Essex Street.
  • At 1:55 p.m., police responded to a dispute on Boston Street.
  • At 2:16 p.m., police responded to a report of a downed tree branch on Prince Street.
  • At 2:25 p.m., police responded to a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident New Derby Street.
  • At 3:05 p.m., police responded to a trespassing complaint on Essex Street.
  • At 3:10 p.m., police responded to a past assault on Lafayette Street. "John Doe", unknown age and address, was arrested on charges of indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or over, assault and battery, resisting arrest and drinking in public.
Other Arrest

Ty L. Arbegast, 24, of 35 Northend St., Peabody, was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and operating an uninsured motor vehicle and for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
