Salem Police Nab Alleged Copper Thief on Flint Street

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log:


Monday, Nov. 18
:

  • At 8:23 p.m., police responded to a disturbance on Warner Street.
  • At 8:28 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Rainbow Terrace.
  • At 9:18 p.m., police responded to a report of a man trying to punch cars near the intersection of Lafayette and Harbor streets.
  • At 10:36 p.m., police responded to a report of an erratic operator on Bridge Street.

Tuesday, Nov. 19

  • At 8:34 a.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Washington Street.
  • At 9:43 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Larchmont Road.
  • At 10:18 a.m., police responded to a report of stolen copper down spouts on Flint Street. Peter B. Turco, 36, of 29 Cherry St., Salem, was arrested on charges of larceny over $250, malicious destruction of property valued above $250 and possessing burglarious tools.
  • At 10:46 a.m., police responded to a report of illegal dumping on Swampscott Road.
  • At 1:38 p.m., police located a man known to have an outstanding warrant near the intersection of Essex Street and Washington Square East. Jerry A. James Jr., 31, of the streets of Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 2:16 p.m., police responded to a report of a rabid skunk on Rainbow Terrace.
  • At 3:23 p.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious cooking pot on First Street.
