North Street Crash Leads to Arrest

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: 


Monday, Feb. 10


  • At 7:06 p.m., police responded to a dispute on First Street.
  • At 7:08 pm., police conducted a well-being check on Federal Street.
  • At 9:28 p.m., a man entered the police station to report a recent domestic dispute.
  • At 9:30 p.m., police responded to a dispute between neighbors on Harbor Street.
  • At 10:11 p.m., a man entered the police station to report that items placed in an unlocked locker at the YMCA on Leggs Hill Road were stolen.
  • At 10:28 p.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Harbor Street.
  • At 11:39 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Loring Avenue.

Tuesday, Feb. 11:

  • At 2:17 a.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Lafayette Street.
  • At 3:44 a.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a parked car on North Street. Wayne P. Daffe, 21, of 62 Derby St., Salem, was arrested on charges of negligent operation of a motor vehicle, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 10:59 a.m., police responded to a report of wires down on Adams Street.
  • At 12:46 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Norman Street.
  • At 3:05 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian on Margin Street.
  • At 3:09 p.m., police responded to a road rage incident on Highland Avenue.
Other Arrest:

Giani Dominic Dicesare, 22, of 9 Abbott St., Beverly, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
