Salem Man Charged With Assaulting Disabled Person

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log:

Thursday, May 1:
 

  • At 5:05 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Boston Street.
  • At 5:23 p.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Canal Street.
  • At 6:24 p.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Washington Square South.
  • At 7:17 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Highland Avenue.
  • At 7:22 p.m., police made an arrest near the intersection of Washington and Harbor streets. Anne M. Sullivan, 55, of the streets of Salem, was arrested on a charge of illegally possessing a class A substance (heroin). Barry E. Bullock, 55, of the streets of Salem, was arrested on a charge of illegally possessing a class A substance (heroin).
  • At 7:59 p.m., police responded to a report of a past larceny on Gedney Street.
  • At 10:00 p.m., police responded to a reported fight near the intersection of Derby and Herbert streets. Scott R. Hooper, 44, of 286 Washington St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of assault and battery on a disabled person and two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (shod foot, hard plastic knuckled gloves).
  • At 11:09 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on First Street.

Friday, May 2

  • At 12:47 a.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Geneva Street.
  • At 1:07 a.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Geneva Street.
  • At 1:11 a.m., police stopped a motor vehicle near the intersection of Washington and Lynde streets. One person was placed under arrest on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence o alcohol.
  • At 2:46 a.m., police responded to a loud party on Perkins Street.
  • At 3:12 a.m., police responded to a loud party on Hazel Street.
  • At 5:57 a.m., vehicles were towed for street sweeping on North Street.
  • At 7:52 a.m., police responded to a road rage incident near the intersection of Mason and Flint streets.
  • At 8:16 a.m., a Bay View Circle resident turned over found ammunition.
  • At 12:00 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Pope Street.
  • At 12:57 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident on Highland Avenue. Kenneth E. Scurry, 53, of the streets of Lynn, was arrested on a charge of larceny over $250.
  • At 1:10 p.m., police responded to a medical overdose on Lafayette Street.
  • At 1:44 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Grove Street.
  • At 2:22 p.m., police conducted a well-being check near the intersection of Chestnut and Cambridge streets.
