Deer Spotted in Downtown Salem

The following information was submitted by the Salem Police Department: 

Thursday, Feb. 20

  • At 4:01 p.m., police responded to a disturbance on Courageous Court.
  • At 4:01 p.m., police responded to a dog complaint on Derby Street.
  • At 5:03 p.m., police made an arrest on New Derby Street. Darryl E. Long, 51, of the streets of Beverly, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 5:50 p.m., police made an arrest on Palmer Street. Todd A. McDermott, 23, of 313 Hunting Ave., Boston, was arrested for reportedly having three outstanding warrants.
  • At 6:00 p.m., police responded to an alarm on Canal Street.
  • At 9:13 p.m., police responded to a report of past damage to a motor vehicle on Congress Street.
  • At 9:46 p.m., police made an arrest on Washington Street. Maria M. Menendez, 27, of 284 Washington St., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.

Friday, Feb. 21

  • At 12:11 a.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Northey Street.
  • At 12:25 a.m., police responded to a possible electrical fire on Palmer Street.
  • At 1:24 a.m., police responded to an alarm on Willson Street.
  • At 2:43 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on North Street.
  • At 4:54 a.m., police responded to a dispute on Loring Avenue.
  • At 6:09 a.m., police responded to a possible sexual assault on Summer Street.
  • At 7:55 a.m., police responded to a disturbance on Washington Street.
  • At 8:58 a.m., police responded to a report of an injured loose deer on White Street. Police received several calls regarding the deer's movements throughout the morning. The environmental police were notified.
  • At 9:46 a.m., police responded to a past assault on Lafayette Street.
  • At 11:04 a.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on New Derby Street.
  • At 11:47 a.m., police responded to a disturbance on Mason Street.
  • At 1:34 p.m., police responded to a report of a past vehicle break-in on Chase STreet.
  • At 1:57 p.m., police responded to a past hit-and-run motor vehicle accident on Margin Street.
  • At 3:33 p.m., police responded to a past motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Bridge and Winter streets.
  • At 3:39 p.m., police responded to a break-in on Hazel Street. Craig J. Lampkin, 54, of 17 Court St. Boston, was arrested on charges of breaking an entering during the daytime to commit a felony, larceny of property valued under $250 and for reportedly having three outstanding warrants.
