Man Flees Salem Home Depot With More Than $1K in Copper

Friday, Oct. 18
:

  • At 5:46 p.m., police located a woman known to have an outstanding warrant on Palmer Street. Katherine E. Clary, 27, of 12 Palmer St., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 6:07 p.m., two drunk women on Derby Street were placed into protective custody.
  • At 6:12 p.m., police located a woman known to have an outstanding warrant near the intersection of Cedar and Cherry streets. Deshea K. St. Jacques, 30, of 14 Cherry St., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 6:47 p.m., police responded to a past vehicle break-in on Cabot Street.
  • At 6:59 p.m., a Norman Street man called police to report that a package delivered to his home was stolen.
  • At 8:38 p.m., a man called police to report that his vehicle was vandalized while parked in the South Harbor Parking Garage overnight. The man said three of his tires were slashed.

Saturday, Oct. 19:

  • At 12:11 a.m., police responded to a past assault on Derby Street.
  • At 12:20 a.m., police responded to a loud party on Porter Street.
  • At 2:16 a.m., police stopped a motor vehicle on Bridge Street. Kiana R. Martin, 18, of 231 Lafayette St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
  • At 7:44 a.m., police and fire units responded to a report of an overturned boat in the water off of Winter Island Road. Click Here for our full story.
  • At 8:20 a.m., police responded to a report of stolen copper from the Home Depot on Traders Way. A man reportedly fled the store with more than $1,000 worth of copper.
  • At 9:00 a.m., a Hancock Street resident called police to report that her fence was damaged overnight.
  • At 9:26 a.m., the owner of the Once and Again Antiques Store on Bridge Street called police to report that two cement benches had been damaged overnight.
  • At 10:42 a.m., someone called police to report that a group of more than 25 people riding on scooters were operating erratically on Highland Avenue.
  • At 12:41 p.m., an officer disposed of hypodermic needles discovered on Daniels Street.
  • At 2:38 p.m., police learned that a cyclist collided with a motor vehicle on Lafayette Street. The cyclist was transported to the hospital with a head injury and no citation was issued.
  • At 2:48 p.m., police responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle near the intersection of Marlborough Road and Scenic Avenue. A woman was issued a citation for failure to use care and caution near a pedestrian.
  • At 4:20 p.m., police responded to a fight near the intersection of Margin and High streets.
  • At 7:47 p.m., police responded to a report of someone sleeping on a porch on Webb Street. Scott A. Caldwell, 30, of 116 Lafayette st., Salem, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and assault and battery on a police officer.
  • At 9:42 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Essex Street. Theodore Solovicos Jr., 59, of 3 Essex St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.
  • At 11:29 p.m., police responded to a report of a break-in in progress on Fairfield Street.

Sunday, Oct. 20

  • At 12:54 a.m., police responded to a loud house party on Laurel Street.
  • At 1:16 a.m., police responded to a fight on Lafayette Street.
  • At 1:32 a.m., police stopped a motor vehicle on Bridge Street. Mark F. Bastien, 27, of 58 Ocean Ave., Salem, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license.
  • At 2:09 a.m., police responded to a past shoplifting incident at the 7-Eleven on North Street.
  • At 3:37 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on a man who was sleeping behind the wheel on Washington Square North. The man was placed into protective custody.
  • At 9:34 a.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident at the A&J King Artisan Bakery on Central Street. A man was issued a no trespass order.
  • At 11:31 p.m., police responded to a past vehicle break-in on Cedar Street.
  • At 1:29 p.m., police responded to a report of a stolen purse on Essex Street. Timothy T. Gay, 48, of the streets of Salem was arrested on a charge of larceny from a person.
  • At 4:27 p.m., police responded to a past vehicle break-in on Bridge Street.
  • At 5:13 p.m., police responded to a report of larceny of a long board on Winter Island Road.
  • At 5:29 p.m., police responded to a past assault on Pope Street.
