Purse-Snatching Incident Reported on Jefferson Avenue

Tuesday, Nov. 5

  • At 3:36 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on First Street.
  • At 4:30 p.m., police and fire units responded to a vehicle fire on Highland Avenue.
  • At 5:57 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Beckford Street.
  • At 6:29 p.m., police responded to a report of a woman yelling on Essex Street.
  • At 6:42 p.m., police responded to a road rage incident on Highland Avenue.
  • At 7:10 p.m., police responded to a road rage incident on Paradise Road.
  • At 7:33 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the Lowell Police Department to pick up a woman known to have an outstanding warrant. Roxanne M. Spingola, 27, of 134 Heritage Drive, Tewksbury, was arrested on a charge of illegally possessing a class A substance (heroin) and for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 7:52 p.m., police responded to a disturbance on Federal Street. A man was placed into protective custody.
  • At 8:27 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Dow Street. Angel A. Avelino Jr., 21, of 56 Dow St., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having two outstanding warrants.

Wednesday, Nov. 6

  • At 12:05 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on North Street.
  • At 4:54 a.m., police responded to a report of a skunk struck by a motor vehicle on Lafayette Street.
  • At 5:29 a.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Norman Street. Gregory DiGiovanni, 26, of 24 Norman St., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 7:09 a.m., police responded to a report of a loose dog near the intersection of Lafayette and Hancock streets.
  • At 9:27 a.m., police stopped a motor vehicle on Canal Street. Derron P. Darcy, 49, of 7 Lussier St., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 10:15 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Williams Street.
  • At 11:30 a.m., police made an arrest at Probate Court on Federal Street. Thomas J. Bradbury, 40, of 60 High St., Haverill, was arrested for reportedly having two outstanding warrants.
  • At 12:05 p.m., police responded to a disturbance on Washington Street.
  • At 1:31 p.m., police responded to a report of damage to a wall on Cavendish Circle.
  • At 4:02 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Prince Street.
  • At 4:23 p.m., police responded to a past assault on Highland Avenue.
  • At 4:50 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Leavitt Street.
  • At 4:51 p.m., police responded to a reported purse-snatching on Jefferson Avenue.
