Salem Detectives Nab Alleged Drug Dealer on Bridge Street

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: 

Tuesday, Feb. 11

  • At 4:25 p.m., police responded to a past break-in on Perkins Street. A laptop and jar of change were reportedly stolen.
  • At 4:31 p.m., police responded to a past break-in on Lafayette Street.
  • At 7:21 p.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Fairview Avenue. Cato J. Lacroix, 20, of 107 Linden St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of open and gross lewdness.
  • At 7:23 p.m., Salem detectives executed a search warrant on Bridge Street. Christal J. Gould, 32, of 127 Bridge St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of illegally possessing a class B substance (Percocet) with intent to distribute and for reportedly having an outstanding warrant. The investigation, which included surveillance and sales to an undercover officer, was led by Det. Brian St. Pierre. Assisting were detectives Charlene Sano, Daniel Tucker, Eric Connolly, Sgt. James Page and Steve Bona.
  • At 7:53 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Butler Street.
  • At 8:41 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Whalers Lane. 
  • At 8:57 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Beacon Street.
  • At 9:14 p.m., police stopped a motor vehicle on Bridge Street. Joseph R. Deisley, 55, of 12 Dudley St., Peabody, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

Wednesday, Feb. 12

  • At 2:05 a.m., police stopped a motor vehicle on Bridge Street. A man will be summonsed to court on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
  • At 5:34 a.m., a Lafayette Street man called police to report that someone let the air out of their tires overnight.
  • At 9:25 a.m., police responded to a disturbance on Salem Green.
  • At 10:50 a.m., police responded to a disturbance on Boston Street.
  • At 1:19 p.m., police responded to a report of someone doing drugs in the bathroom of the CVS on Canal Street. A woman will be summonsed to court on a charge of shoplifting.
  • At 2:30 p.m., police responded to a past break-in The New Yorker Deli on Paradise Road. A microwave and wide-screen television were reportedly stolen.
  • At 3:05 p.m., police responded to a past larceny on Willson Street.
Other Arrest: 

Julio L. Chavez, 32, of 27 Alice Ave., Lynn, was arrested on a charge of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
