Cyclist Struck, Injured on Federal Street in Salem

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: 

Sunday, Nov. 17

  • At 4:09 p.m., police responded to a report of a drunk man sleeping on a bench near the intersection of Palmer and Prince streets.
  • At 4:48 p.m., a Prince Street woman called police to report that someone threw corn at her front door.
  • At 5:14 p.m., police made an arrest on Japonica Street. Shannon E. Bohn, 30, of the streets of Salem, was arrested for reportedly having three outstanding warrants.
  • At 6:42 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Pope Street. Aida Silva, 46, of 12 Pope St., Salem, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and intimidating a witness.
  • At 7:16 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on First Street. Abdi D. Hassan, 54, of 12 First St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.
  • At 8:22 p.m., police responded to a reported domestic assault and battery on Highland Avenue.
  • At 11:31 p.m., police attempted to serve a warrant on Tanglewood Lane. 

Monday, Nov. 18

  • At 12:05 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Lafayette Street.
  • At 12:33 a.m., police responded to a loud house party on Rainbow Terrace.
  • At 7:15 a.m., police responded to a report of a truck dropping material into the street on Canal Street.
  • At 9:21 a.m., an employee of the Peoples United Bank on Traders Way called police to report that a window was damaged overnight.
  • At 2:31 p.m., police responded to a dispute on Bridge Street.
  • At 3:48 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a cyclist near the intersection of Federal and Beckford streets. The cyclist was taken to the hospital by ambulance to be treated for a minor injury.
  • At 4:35 p.m., police responded to a reported fight near the intersection of Boston and Rawlins streets.
  • At 5:25 p.m., police responded to a dispute between neighbors near the intersection of Lafayette and Roslyn streets.
