Salem Man Arrested Following Alleged Gun Threats

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: 


Sunday, March 2

  • At 5:28 p.m., police responded to a report of brown water on Arbella Street.
  • At 5:44 p.m., police responded to a dispute on Canal Street.
  • At 6:18 p.m., a resident on Aborn Street called police to report that someone threatened them with a gun. Luigi F. Fernandez, 24, of 12 Pope St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon (gun).
  • At 6:33 p.m., police responded to a medical overdose on Gardner Street.
  • At 7:07 p.m., police responded to a loud house party on Butler Street.
  • At 7:09 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on North Street.
  • At 8:35 p.m., police responded to a dog complaint on Proctor Street.
  • At 8:58 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute near the intersection of North and School streets.
  • At 9:56 p.m., police responded to a dispute on Pope Street.

Monday, March 3

  • At 2:43 a.m., police responded a noise complaint on First Street.
  • At 7:25 a.m., police responded to a medical overdose on Queensberry Drive.
  • At 7:32 a.m., police responded to an assault and battery near the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and Willson Street. A woman will be summonsed on a charge of leaving the scene of an accident with property damage and assault and battery.
  • At 9:14 a.m., police responded to a report of illegal dumping on Canal Street.
  • At 11:38 a.m., police responded to a report of a man looking into cars on Canal Street.
  • At 12:35 p.m., police responded to a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident on Whalers Lane.
  • At 1:58 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on a woman who was yelling near the intersection of Orne and Lee streets. The woman told police she was walking the neighborhood looking for a bird that got out of its cage yesterday and was yelling its name.
  • At 2:30 p.m., police responded to a road rage incident on Traders Way.
  • At 4:20 p.m., police responded to a disturbance on Pope Street.
  • At 4:56 p.m., police responded to a report of damaged property on Essex Street.
