New Derby Street Crash Leads to Drunk Driving Arrest

Friday, April 18:

  • At 4:34 p.m., police responded to a medical overdose on Leach Street.
  • At 4:58 p.m., police responded to a dispute on Highland Avenue.
  • At 8:16 p.m., police stopped a motor vehicle on Broad Street. Macauthur T. Belin Jr., 46, of 285 Centre St., Jamaica Plain, was arrested on charges of illegally possessing a class B substance (Oxycodone) and violating the city's knife ordinance.
  • At 9:29 p.m., police responded to a disturbance on Derby Street.
  • At 10:32 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Fletcher Way.

Saturday, April 19

  • At 12:54 a.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident on New Derby Street. Kayla M. Ambeliotis, 23, of 29 Baystate Place, Peabody, was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of liquor and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
  • At 1:17 a.m., a local resident called police to report that his car had been damaged while parked on Derby Street.
  • At 1:31 a.m., police responded to a loud house party on North Street.
  • At 3:52 a.m., police responded to a possible fight in the street on Northey Street.
  • At 7:17 a.m., police responded to a report of a toddler walking in the street on Jefferson Avenue.
  • At 7:26 a.m., police made an arrest on Fletcher Way.
  • At 11:22 a.m., police received word that a coyote had been spotted on Larkin Lane.
  • At 12:09 p.m., police responded to a fight in a parking lot on Traders Way.
  • At 12:25 p.m., police responded to a report of a possible stolen motor vehicle on North Street. Jorge L. Rivera, 23, of 99 North St., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 1:16 p.m., police responded to a report of a loose dog on Linden Street.
  • At 1:46 p.m., police responded to a past break-in on Bryant Street.
  • At 2:03 p.m., police responded to a report of a coyote following people on Memorial Drive.
  • At 3:47 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident at the Walmart on Highland Avenue. Jose Sanchez, 54, of the streets of Lynn, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting merchandise by concealment.
  • At 4:07 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Essex Street.
  • At 4:43 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident at the Walmart on Highland Avenue.
  • At 4:51 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident at the Market Basket on Highland Avenue. Michael W. Dupont, 34, of 25 Mudge St., Lynn, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting merchandise by asportation and for reportedly having two outstanding warrants.
  • At 5:44 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Traders Way.
  • At 7:12 p.m., police responded to a report of kids shooting a paintball gun on North Street.
  • At 8:58 p.m., police responded to a report of kids playing in the street on Mason Street.
  • At 9:13 p.m., police responded to a report of a missing 8-year-old on First Street.
  • At 11:13 p.m., police responded to a loud party on Highland Avenue.

Sunday, April 20

  • At 1:09 a.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Lafayette and New Derby streets. Phyllis M. Hull, 56, of 104 Linden St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
  • At 1:17 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Hazel Street.
  • At 3:41 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Boston Street.
  • At 8:27 a.m., police conducted a well-being check near the intersection of Boston and Bridge streets.
  • At 9:02 a.m., an officer disposed of a hypodermic needle discovered on Essex Street.
  • At 12:57 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Daniels Street Court.

Other Arrest

Carlos J. Feliz, 17, of 34 Prince St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of assault and battery.
