Delivery Driver Says He Was Robbed at Gunpoint in Salem

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: 

Monday, Jan. 20

  • At 5:23 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on North Street.
  • At 6:54 p.m., police responded to a past domestic dispute on North Street. Vincent R. Caruso, 42, of 141 North St., Salem, was arrested on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (door) and assault and battery.
  • At 7:15 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Cousins Street.
  • At 9:00 p.m., police responded to a report of a pit bull chasing people on Gallows Hill Road.
  • At 9:42 p.m., a delivery driver called police to report that he was robbed at gunpoint on Perkins Street.
  • At 9:52 p.m., police responded to a report of someone being threatened with a knife on Boston Street. Odilia Lopez, 28, of 38 Boston St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon (knife).
  • At 11:24 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Summer Street. Diane M. Karslian, 44, of 77 Summer St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of assault and battery.

Tuesday, Jan. 21

  • At 1:47 a.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Lafayette Street.
  • At 8:08 a.m., police responded to a dispute between neighbors on Beaver Street.
  • At 8:59 a.m., police responded to a dispute in the street on Northey Street.
  • At 9:25 a.m., police responded to a report of illegal dumping on Highland Avenue.
  • At 11:52 a.m., police responded to a dispute between landlord and tenant on Upham Street.
  • At 12:41 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Dow Street.
  • At 2:07 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Salem Street.
  • At 3:25 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Chandler Street.
  • At 3:29 p.m., police responded to a past larceny on Lafayette Street.
