Alleged Drunk Driver Found Passed Out Behind the Wheel

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: 


Friday, April 4

  • At 4:07 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident on Essex Street. Two juveniles were served with no trespass orders.
  • At 4:17 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Bridge Street. 
  • At 4:50 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Highland Avenue.
  • At 5:22 p.m., police made an arrest on Perkins Street. Ayesha Jones, 37, of 38 Perkins St., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 5:46 p.m., an officer disposed of a hypodermic needle discovered on Norman Street.
  • At 7:18 p.m., police responded to a past break-in on Endicott Street. An apartment was photographed and dusted for fingerprints and several items - including jewelry, clothing and books - were reported stolen.
  • At 8:48 p.m., police made an arrest on Cedarcrest Avenue. Timothy A. Allain, 36, of 16 Cedarcrest Ave., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 11:36 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on White Street. Joe Bezandry, 37, of 13 Pickering St., Danvers, was arrested on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (window) and wanton destruction of property valued above $100.
  • At 11:40 p.m., police responded to a reported fight at the Knights of Columbus on Washington Square East. Peter A. Gaudreault, 51, of 12 Pleasant St., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant. Patricia A. McIntire, 52, of 12 Pleasant St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct.

Saturday, April 5

  • At 12:26 a.m., police responded to a domestic assault and battery on Heritage Drive. 
  • At 1:13 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Wharf Street.
  • At 2:14 a.m., police responded to a report of a woman passed out in a running vehicle in the Market Basket parking lot on Highland Avenue. Seana E. Coleman-Hall, 23, of 13 Roslyn St., Salem, was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and operating a motor vehicle with an open container of alcohol.
  • At 9:07 a.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious activity on Essex Street.
  • At 10:00 a.m., a High Street woman called police to report that someone stole an antique copper pot from her outdoor fireplace. A check at North Shore Recycled Fibers showed that someone brought in an antique copper pot on Friday. A warrant will be sought for Peter Turco on a charge of larceny of property valued above $250.
  • At 1:25 p.m., police responded to a past larceny at Lotus Gifts at the East India Square Mall.
  • At 5:49 p.m., police responded to an out-of-control 14-year-old on Harbor Street.
  • At 9:11 p.m., police arrested a juvenile on Loring Avenue.
  • At 11:25 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Highland Avenue. 

Sunday, April 6

  • At 12:17 a.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Dow Street.
  • At 12:32 a.m., police responded t a noise complaint on Loring Avenue.
  • At 1:18 a.m., police broke up a large house party on Lawrence Street. Michael P. McKinnon, 21, of 53 Lawrence St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of disturbing the peace. Kevin M. Verity, 21, of 53 Lawrence St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of disturbing the peace.
  • At 3:59 a.m., police responded to a report of a car into a tree/fence on Willson Street. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
  • At 12:34 p.m., police and fire units responded to a report of smoke in a building on Federal Street.
Other Arrests

Michael R. Fontaine
, 44, of 31 Wilton St., Somerville, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.

John A. Abbis Jr., 60, of 36 Boston St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct.
