Salem Police Investigating Break-in at Former Bangkok Paradise Location

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: 

Sunday, June 15:

  • At 4:47 p.m., police responded to a dispute on Broad Street.
  • At 5:29 p.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Porter Street.
  • At 6:30 p.m., police responded to a possible sewer problem on Parlee Street. The DPW was notified.
  • At 6:31 p.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Lynde Street.
  • At 7:03 p.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Salem Street.
  • At 7:32 p.m., police responded to a dispute on Cherry Street.
  • At 8:24 p.m., police responded to a past assault on Bridge Street. 
  • At 8:55 p.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Collins Street.
  • At 10:55 p.m., police responded to a loud house party near the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and Laurent Road.

Monday, June 16

  • At 12:10 a.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Daniels Street. A man was placed into protective custody.
  • At 12:42 a.m., police responded to a report of stolen bikes on Palmer Street.
  • At 1:02 a.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Washington Street.
  • At 2:45 a.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Harbor Street. Carol J. Oliver, 50, of 75 Silsbee St., Lynn, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery and for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 6:09 a.m., an officer disposed of a hypodermic needle discovered on Bridge Street.
  • At 10:16 a.m., police stopped a motor vehicle on Marlborough Road. Luz N. Serrano, 27, of 281 Essex St., Lynn, was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 10:28 a.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident at the Walgreens on New Derby Street. Jessica Freeman, 36, of 67 Poplar St., Danvers, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting merchandise by concealment, third offense and for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 11:16 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Washington Street.
  • At 2:07 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Highland Avenue.
  • At 2:11 p.m., police responded to a past break-in at the former Bangkok Paradise location on Washington Street. The new leasee told police he believed the former owner stole 8 flat-screen televisions from the building, damage two bathroom fixtures and damaged a hose on a dishwasher.
  • At 3:24 p.m., police responded to a past assault on Derby Street.
  • At 5:17 p.m., police responded to a report of possible identity theft on Pickman Road.
Other Arrests

John E. Baker IV, 27, of 11 Walnut St., Danvers, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

Judith L. Carpentier, 35, of the streets of Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
