Traders Way Accident Leads to Arrest

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: 


Wednesday, Feb. 19:

  • At  6:15 p.m., police responded to an alarm on Liberty Hill Avenue.
  • At 8:03 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on West Avenue.
  • At 8:36 p.m., police responded to a report of wires down on Gardner Street.
  • At 9:01 p.m., police responded to a dispute between roommates on High Street.
  • At 10:17 p.m., police responded to a report of a drunk man causing a disturbance. A man was placed into protective custody.
  • At 10:23 p.m., police responded to a report of a drunk man in the bathroom at the North House of Pizza on North Street. A man was placed into protective custody.

Thursday, Feb. 20

  • At 12:07 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Marion Road.
  • At 2:18 a.m., police responded to an alarm at the TJ Max on Traders Way. Jesus M. Liria, 26, of 36 Graves Ave., Lynn, was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident with property damage and for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 3:44 a.m., police made an arrest on Lafayette Street. Joseph A. Perez, 36, of the streets of Boston, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At  6:22 a.m., police responded to an alarm on Loring Avenue.
  • At 7:37 a.m., police responded to a past hit-and-run motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Bridge and Howard streets.
  • At 9:48 a.m., police responded to a possible shoplifting incident at Bunghole Liquors on Derby Street. Scott F. Hilton, 53, of 39 Boylston St., Boston, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting merchandise by concealment, third offense.
  • At 10:40 a.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Rainbow Terrace.
  • At 10:42 a.m., police responded to a past hit-and-run motor vehicle accident on Lynde Street.
  • At 11:27 a.m., police responded to a past domestic dispute on Gardner Street. Theodore Giesbrandt, 34, of 5 Gardner St., Salem, was arrested on three counts of aggravated assault and battery.
  • At 12:11 p.m., police responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a building on Congress Street.
  • At 1:10 p.m., a Highland Avenue woman called police to report that someone stole a pair of pants from her apartment.
  • At 1:16 p.m., police responded to a disturbance on Lafayette Street.
  • At 2:01 p.m., police responded to a past motor vehicle accident on Washington Street.
  • At 2:30 p.m., police responded to a medical overdose on Broad Street.
  • At 2:35 p.m., police responded to a report of wires down on Proctor Street.
  • At 3:38 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Dunlap Street.
  • At 3:43 p.m., police responded to a report of a past assault on Boston Street. A juvenile was arrested on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon (knife) and domestic assault and battery.

Other Arrest

Darry E. Long, 51, of the streets of Beverly, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
