Alleged Shoplifter Arrested at Salem Walmart

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: 


Saturday, March 22:
 

  • At 6:08 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on North Street.
  • At 7:17 p.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious package on Washington Street.
  • At 8:11 p.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious man climbing on a wall on Lafayette Street. A man was placed into protective custody.
  • At 8:54 p.m., police responded to a report of an erratic operator on North Street.
  • At 9:40 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident at the Walmart on Highland Avenue. Konstantinos Psiroukis, 48, of 344 Parkland Ave., Lynn, was arrested on charges of shoplifting merchandise valued above $100, malicious destruction of property valued above $250 and five counts of violating the city's knife ordinance.
  • At 9:48 p.m., police responded to a noise complaint on School Street.
  • At 10:01 p.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Mason Street.
  • At 10:41 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Pope Street.
  • At 11:00 p.m., a woman called police to report that someone stole her battery-operated wheelchair from the rear of 191 Federal St. The wheelchair is reportedly valued at $5,000. 
  • At 11:12 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Marlborough Road.

Sunday, March 23:

  • At 12:11 a.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Bridge Street.
  • At 9:16 a.m., police responded to a trash dumping complaint on Symonds Street.
  • At 10:58 a.m., a Marlborough Road woman called police to report that an iPhone and a Kindle were stolen from her house by some people she met on Craigslist.
  • At 11:29 a.m., police responded to a past hit-and-run motor vehicle accident on Pope Street.
  • At 12:37 p.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious package on Hawthorne Boulevard.
  • At 12:38 p.m., an officer disposed of a hypodermic needle that was discovered in a backyard on Hazel Street.
  • At 12:58 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on First Street.
  • At 2:12 p.m., a woman called police to report that she was sideswiped by a Salem Taxi vehicle that left the area after the accident. A summons will be issued for Johnny Fabian-Corniel on a charge of leaving the scene of an accident with property damage.
  • At 2:53 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Becket Street.
  • At 4:59 p.m., police and fire units responded to a report of a small fire on a side porch on Carlton Street. Nearby residents who put out the fire told police they believe a lit cigarette may have been the cause.
  • At 5:31 p.m., police made an arrest on Lafayette Street. Lawrence J. Ianetta, 46, of 190 Lafayette St., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having two outstanding warrants.
  • At 7:11 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Lafayette Street.
  • At 8:39 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Perkins Street. Alex R. Ledford, 18, of the streets of Salem, was arrested on charges of domestic assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (wall) and two counts of assault and battery.
  • At 8:43 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute near the intersection of Cedar and Cherry streets. A warrant will be issued for Luis Gomez Jr. on a charge of aggravated domestic assault and battery and malicious destruction of property valued above $250.
  • At 9:11 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Balcomb Street. Lindsay M. Dragonis, 25, of 19 Cushing St., Salem, was arrested on two counts of domestic assault and battery.
  • At 9:17 p.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Palmer Street.
  • At 9:47 p.m., police responded to a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident on Derby Street.

Monday, March 24

  • At 12:11 a.m., police responded to an alarm on Highland Avenue.
  • At 12:53 a.m., police responded to a medical overdose on Harbor Street.
  • At 6:40 a.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Highland Avenue and Jackson Street.
  • At 7:15 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Highland Avenue.
  • At 12:13 p.m., police responded to a fight on Lafayette Street.
  • At 1:32 p.m., an officer disposed of hypodermic needles discovered in front of a house on Boston Street.
  • At 2:19 p.m., police responded to an animal complaint on Charter Street.
  • At 2:38 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Bryant Street.

Other Arrests

Christopher A. Parady, 35, of the streets of Salem, was placed into protective custody.

Yaqing Wang, 48, of 48 Glen Rock Ave., Malden, was arrested on a charge of larceny

Joseph C. Poretta, 53, of 80 Hathorne St., Salem, was arrested on charges of intimidating a witness and two counts of assault and battery.

Jeffrey J. Rocker, 25, of 16 Warren St., Peabody, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct and for violating the city's knife ordinance.

Abner J. Trinidad, 21, of 8 Lowe St., Peabody, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
