Local Dog Stops By Boston Street Laundromat

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log:


Tuesday, May 20

  • At 4:50 p.m., police responded to a report of an injured cat on Mason Street.
  • At 5:16 p.m., police responded to a report o a stolen package on Forest Avenue.
  • At 6:09 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Bridge Street.
  • At 6:32 p.m., police responded to a report of kids fishing at Greenlawn Cemetery. The kids were moved along without incident.
  • At 8:17 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Boston Street.
  • At 9:25 p.m., police responded to a report of someone sleeping in a car on Essex Street.

Wednesday, May 21

  • At 12:15 a.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Pickman Street.
  • At 12:26 a.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Ocean Avenue.
  • At 1:29 a.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Roslyn Street. A tenant was issued a city violation for having a loud party.
  • At 3:25 a.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Highland Avenue.
  • At 6:07 a.m., police responded to a report of an erratic operator on Balcomb Street.
  • At 8:18 a.m, police conducted a well-being check on Dow Street.
  • At 8:44 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Essex Street. 
  • At 9:09 a.m., police responded to an unleashed dog complaint on Fort Avenue.
  • At 10:41 a.m., police responded to a dispute near the intersection of Essex and Flint streets.
  • At 11:16 a.m., police responded to a past vehicle break-in on Summer Street.
  • At 12:05 p.m., police received word from a patron at a Boston Street laundromat that a dog had just wandered into the business. The owner was located at work and came home to retrieve her dog. It is unclear how the dog got out.
  • At 12:48 p.m., police responded to a past shoplifting incident at The Boutique on Front Street. A woman was caught on surveillance camera stealing a blouse.
  • At 1:57 p.m., police responded to a past break-in on Dow Street.
  • At 2:02 p.m., police made an arrest on Highland Avenue.  Juan M. Encarnacion, 50, of 26 Prince St., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having outstanding warrants for rape of a child and indecent assault and battery on a person under 14.
  • At 2:12 p.m., police made an arrest on Charter Street. Timothy T. Gay, 48, of the streets of Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 2:26 p.m., police responded to a past assault on Winter Island Road.
  • At 2:31 p.m., police responded to a reported indecent assault on a child on Broadway.
  • At 2:34 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Endicott Street.
  • At 2:55 p.m., police made an arrest on Federal Street. Robert L. Maloney, 25, of the streets of Salem, was arrested on a fugitive from justice warrant out of Arizona.
  • At 2:57 p.m., police responded to a past fight between dogs on Fort Avenue.
  • At 3:14 p.m., police responded to a dispute on Washington Street.
  • At 3:22 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian on Washington Street.
