Salem Police Arrest Gloucester Man on Attempted Murder Charge

The following is and excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: 


Thursday, Feb. 13

  • At 7:06 p.m., police responded to a dispute on Ropes Street.
  • At 7:14 p.m., police responded to a report of a taxi dispute on Bridge Street.
  • At 7:26 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Rainbow Terrace.
  • At 7:41 p.m., police stopped a motor vehicle near the intersection of Washington and Harbor streets. Cesar A. Herrera Jr., 21, of 103 Washington St., Peabody, was arrested for reportedly having four outstanding warrants.
  • At 7:50 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Endicott Street.
  • At 8:46 p.m., police responded to a report of downed wires on Bay View Avenue.
  • At 10:28 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Loring Avenue.

Friday, Feb. 14

  • At 1:56 a.m., police responded to a report of a flooded roadway on Swampscott Road.
  • At 2:31 a.m., police responded to an alarm on New Liberty Street.
  • At 6:13 a.m., police responded to a report of a large puddle in the middle of Loring Avenue.
  • At 6:22 a.m., police and DPW workers responded to a water issue on Cross Street.
  • At 7:20 a.m., police responded to a domestic assault and battery on Pioneer Terrace.
  • At 8:28 a.m., police stopped a motor vehicle on Highland Avenue. William J. Rivera, 28, of 42 Welch Ave., Manchester, N.H., was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
  • At 9:33 a.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Washington Street. 
  • At 12:10 p.m., police responded to a trash dumping complaint on Aurora Lane.
  • At 12:44 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Bertuccio Avenue. Michael P. Smith Jr., 26, of 4 Bertuccio Ave., Salem, was arrested on charges of domestic assault and battery and intimidating a witness.
  • At 3:00 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Bridge Street.

Other Arrests

Lakeisha S. Hunt, 35, of 1000 Loring Ave., Salem, was arrested on charges of assault and battery and larceny over $250.

Robin G. Robertson, 59, of 53 Hilltop Ave., Beverly, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

Jeffrey M. Larocque, 42, of 18 Spring St., Gloucester, was arrested on charges of attempted murder, assault with a dangerous weapon, malicious destruction of property valued above $250, three counts of domestic assault and battery and malicious destruction of property valued above $250.
