Salem School Committee Candidate Reports Stolen Campaign Signs

The following information was submitted by the Salem Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.


The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: 

Wednesday, Sept. 11

  • At 5:20 p.m., a juvenile was arrested on Leavitt Street.
  • At 6:15 p.m., police and fire units responded to a vehicle fire on School Street. Click Here to view footage from the scene.
  • At 6:28 p.m., a Northend Avenue man called police to report that someone stole 100 magic markers from his home.
  • At 6:40 p.m., a man entered the police station to report that his wallet was stolen from an unlocked locker at the YMCA on Leggs Hill Road.
  • At 6:49 p.m., a hypodermic needle was discovered on Highland Avenue.
  • At 7:09 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Nursery Street.
  • At 7:31 p.m., police responded to a report of a youth that had been shot by their friend with a BB gun.
  • At 7:52 p.m., a First Street man called police to report that someone put sugar in his gas tank overnight.
  • At 8:32 p.m., a man called police to report that someone stole his bike from the bike rack at the MBTA station on Bridge Street.
  • At 9:58 p.m., police responded to a reported disturbance on Roslyn Street.

Thursday, Sept. 12

  • At 12:58 a.m., police responded to a report of unwanted guest at an apartment on Lafayette Street. Michele L. Amirault, 34, of 100 Willow St., Lynn, was arrested on a warrant for being a fugitive from justice.
  • At 12:32 a.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Loring Avenue.
  • At 1:37 a.m., police checked on a man who was found laying on the ground on Pearl Street. Timothy J. Linden Jr., 31, of 13 Pearl St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct. 
  • At 5:36 a.m., police responded to a past vehicle break-in on Pope Street.
  • At 6:53 a.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian near the intersection of Goodhue and Bridge streets.
  • At 7:59 a.m., a woman called police to report that the catalytic converter on her car was stolen while it was parked in the Salem Hospital parking lot.
  • At 8:20 a.m., police responded to a report of a man looking into cars on Bay View Avenue.
  • At 9:41 a.m., police responded to a reported medical overdose on Washington Square West.
  • At 10:21 a.m., police responded to a report of malicious destruction to a motor vehicle on Highland Avenue.
  • At 10:49 a.m., a Ropes Street woman called police to report that her backpack was stolen off of her front porch.
  • At 11:51 a.m., police responded to a report of illegal dumping on Intervale Road.
  • At 11:53 a.m., a manager at The Great Escape on Bridge Street called police to report that a former employee ran up a bill worth $77.04 and left without paying. 
  • At 11:56 a.m., a woman called police to report that her unattended purse was stolen from a shopping cart on Highland Avenue.
  • At 12:09 p.m., a candidate running for Salem School Committee called police to report that five of her campaign signs had been stolen from locations around Salem.
  • At 12:12 p.m., a juvenile was arrested at Salem District Court.
  • At 12:57 p.m., a woman was arrested at Salem District Court for reportedly having an outstanding warrant. Alexandra L. Felix, 18, of 22 Grove St., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 1:04 p.m., police responded to a report of a loose dog on Jefferson Avenue.
  • At 2:06 p.m., police responded to a report of illegal dumping behind the Target on Highland Avenue.
  • At 2:30 p.m., a Heritage Drive resident called police to report that someone slashed two of his tires overnight.
  • At 2:48 p.m., police responded to a report of a man sleeping on Salem Common. The man was moved along without incident.
