Salem Police Search for Suspected Burglar on Loring Avenue

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: 


Tuesday, Oct. 8:

  • At 5:11 p.m., police responded to a report of possible child abuse on Harrison Avenue.
  • At 7:01 p.m., police responded to a report of a man armed with a baseball bat yelling near the intersection of Harbor and Prince streets.
  • At 10:04 p.m., police stopped a motor vehicle on Washington Square North. Robert G. Dailey, 45, of the streets of Salem, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, subsequent offense.

Wednesday, Oct. 9:

  • At 6:44 a.m., police responded to a report of a single loud bang on Moffat Road.
  • At 9:00 a.m., police located a man known to have an outstanding warrant on New Derby Street. Justin P. LeBlanc, 32, of 116 Lafayette St., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant. Kevin M. Dion, 38, of the streets of Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 9:56 a.m., police responded to a dispute on Read Street.
  • At 10:46 a.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident at The Boutique on Front Street.
  • At 2:02 p.m., a woman called police to report that someone damaged her car overnight while it was parked on Highland Avenue.
  • At 2:33 p.m., police conducted a well-being check near the intersection of Margin and Norman streets.
  • At 3:23 p.m., most of the city's active police units searched the area of Loring Avenue for a burglar after learning that a homeowner had interrupted an attempted break-in. A Loring Avenue resident reportedly told police they heard their air conditioner being pushed in through an open window and scared off a burglar before they managed to get inside. Detectives declined to offer a description of the burglar because they reportedly have a suspect. 
  • At 3:44 p.m., police responded to a dispute on Essex Street.
  • At 3:57 p.m., a woman entered the police station to turn herself in. Deborah E. Semensi, 27, of 104 Lafayette St., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 4:17 p.m., police responded to a medical overdose on Margin Street.
  • At 4:18 p.m., police responded to a report of a man yelling at a dog on Turner Street.
  • At 4:20 p.m., police responded to a dispute between a landlord and tenant on Dunlap Street.
  • At 4:21 p.m., police made an arrest on Kelly Road. Douglas W. Donaldson, 29, of 1 Kelley Road, Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
