Alleged Prostitute Accused of Soliciting Undercover Cop in Salem

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: 


Tuesday, Oct. 29

  • At 4:23 p.m., police responded to a report of a religious zealot speaking too loudly on their megaphone. The person agreed to lower the volume.
  • At 4:55 p.m., police responded to an unwanted performer on Essex Street. The woman agreed to move along for the evening.
  • At 5:07 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Lee Fort Terrace. 
  • At 5:48 p.m., police responded to a report of a man preaching loudly into a megaphone on Essex Street. The man agreed to turn the volume down.
  • At 6:21 p.m., police responded to a dispute on Gardner Street.
  • At 6:51 p.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Geneva Street.
  • At 7:10 p.m., police responded to a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident on Dodge Street Court.
  • At 7:11 p.m., police responded to a report of a loud preacher with a megaphone on Essex Street.
  • At 7:28 p.m., an employee at the Starbucks on Washington Street called police to report that two people had been in the bathroom for a long time.
  • At 7:37 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Butler Street.
  • At 7:56 p.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Orchard Street.
  • At 8:12 p.m., police responded to a report of a cat struck by a motor vehicle near the intersection of School and Tremont streets. 
  • At 9:13 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on East Collins Street.
  • At 9:23 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Cedar Avenue.


Wednesday, Oct. 30:

  • At 12:18 a.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Canal Street.
  • At 1:03 a.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Norman Street.
  • At 1:38 a.m., police responded to a reported domestic assault and battery on Osgood Street.
  • At 6:27 a.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Prince Street. Donna M. Welch, 47, of 22 Prince St., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 10:45 a.m., an officer disposed of hypodermic needles found on Dunlap Street.
  • At 11:38 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Verdon Street.
  • At 11:42 a.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian near the intersection of Lafayette and Harbor streets.
  • At 12:28 p.m., police stopped a motor vehicle on Willson Street. Brandon L. Rinaldi, 24, of 5 Willowbrake Drive, Peabody, was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and illegally possessing a class B substance (Suboxone).
  • At 12:42 p.m., police responded to a past motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Lafayette and Leach streets.
  • At 1:42 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident at the Walgreens on New Derby Street. Two youths were released to their parents.
  • At 2:10 p.m., an officer in an unmarked cruiser noticed a woman standing on Lafayette Street who "appeared to have no real purpose." When the officer pulled up to get a closer look at her, the woman reportedly approached the vehicle and asked if he was "looking for a date" and reportedly offered to perform a sexual act for $30. Starica Healey, 26, of 71 Palmer St., Salem, was arrested on charges of prostitution, illegally possessing a class E substance (Gabapentin) and for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 3:21 p.m., a juvenile was arrested on Winter Island Road.
  • At 3:21 p.m., police responded to a past vehicle break-in on Highland Avenue.
  • At 3:32 p.m., police responded to a medical overdose on North Street.

Other arrests:

Robert D. Sentas, 26, of 35 Perry Ave., Lynnfield, was arrested on charges of larceny from a building, larceny over $250 and breaking and entering during the daytime with intent to commit a felony.

Shaun C. Gallagher, 26, of 99 Bridge St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

Thomas F. Gillick, 45, of the streets of Salem, was arrested on a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon.
