Salem 7-Eleven Clerk Reports Theft of Cigarettes

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: 


Monday, Dec. 30:

  • At 6:37 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Washington Square South. Kevin W. Pirelli, 21, of 2 Gerrish Place, Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 6:50 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Rice Street. Sean G. Ryan, 37, of 2 Pierce Ave., Salem, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery. 

Tuesday, Dec. 31:

  • At 1:22 a.m., police responded to a report of possible gunshots on Oakview Avenue.
  • At 2:07 a.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident at the 7-Eleven on North Street. The clerk told police someone entered the store, pushed him over and stole several packs of cigarettes before fleeing the area on foot.
  • At 3:46 a.m., police responded to a report of a loud Christmas display on Buffum Street.
  • At 5:27 a.m., a woman on Loring Avenue called police to report that her tires were slashed overnight.
  • At 7:59 a.m., police and fire units responded to a vehicle fire on Harmony Grove Road.
  • At 8:42 a.m., police responded to a dispute between landlord and tenant on Buffum Street.
  • At 10:18 a.m., police responded to a trash barrel fire.
  • At 11:41 a.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious man on Rockdale Avenue.
  • At 1:22 p.m., police retrieved a bag of hypodermic needles on Dodge Street.
  • At 4:41 p.m., police and fire units responded to a transformer fire on Beaver Street.
  • At 6:22 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on First Street. Kevin M. Quintero, 31, of 32 Chatham St., Lynn, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct.
  • At 6:38 p.m., police responded to a report of a past motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian on New Derby Street.
  • At 7:05 p.m., police responded to a past break-in on Porter Street.
  • At 8:25 p.m., police responded to a dispute between landlord and tenant on Bridge Street.
  • At 11:49 p.m., police responded to a dispute between neighbors on Chandler Street.

Wednesday, Jan. 1

  • At 12:10 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Harbor Street.
  • At 12:41 a.m., police responded to a reported fight near the intersection of Cedar and Cherry streets.
  • At 2:20 a.m., police responded to a disturbance on Roslyn Street.
  • At 6:26 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Lafayette Street.
  • At 9:27 a.m., police responded to a past vehicle break-in on Bow Street.
  • At 1:12 p.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious package on School Street.
  • At 1:51 p.m., police responded to a trash-picking complaint on Collins Street.
  • At 2:41 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Highland Avenue. Joseph G. Flynn, 52, of the streets of Peabody, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 4:04 p.m., a William Street woman called police to report that someone lit her trash barrel on fire.
