Alleged Shoplifter Arrested at Salem Walgreens

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: 


Monday, Jan. 6:

  • At 4:16 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Dow Street.
  • At 4:22 p.m., police responded to a reported larceny from a building on Ober Street.
  • At 4:36 p.m., police made an arrest on Boston Street. 
  • At 6:50 p.m., police responded to a dispute between a landlord and tenant on Chandler Street.
  • At 8:29 p.m., police made an arrest on Margin Street. Richard D. Fuller, 31, of the streets of Salem, was arrested on a charge of trespassing.
  • At 9:45 p.m., police responded to a report of a counterfeit $100 on Canal Street.
  • At 10:08 p.m., police made an arrest on Heritage Drive. Korey Whitehurst, 29, of 10 Heritage Drive, was arrested on a charges of violating an abuse prevention order, disturbing the peace and threatening to commit a crime (murder).
  • At 11:11 p.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Wharf Street.

Tuesday, Jan. 7:

  • At 1:20 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Summer Street.
  • At 3:31 a.m., police responded to a loud party on Lafayette Street.
  • At 6:31 a.m., police responded to a report of an open manhole cover on Derby Street.
  • At 8:19 a.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident at the Walgreens on New Derby Street. Colette S. Olcott, 44, of 44 Pingree St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting merchandise by concealment.
  • At 11:04 a.m., police responded to a report of wires down on Bridge Street.
  • At 11:22 a.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Loring Avenue.
  • At 12:25 p.m., a Howard Street resident called police to report that a scooter was stolen from their backyard.
  • At 1:39 p.m., police responded to a dispute over a cab fare on Rainbow Terrace.
  • At 1:49 p.m., police responded to a past break-in on Plymouth Street. A laptop and $600 cash were reportedly stolen.
