Salem Police Arrest Homeless Man at The Hawthorne Hotel

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: 


Sunday, Nov. 10


  • At 5:44 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Conant Street.
  • At 7:33 p.m., police responded to a vehicle break-in on Palmer Street.

Monday, Nov. 11

  • At 1:04 a.m., police responded to a fight in progress on Lafayette Street.
  • At 1:49 a.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious person sleeping in the boiler room at the Hawthorne Hotel.  John N. Callahan, 46, of the streets of Salem, was arrested on a charge of trespassing and for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 9:45 a.m., police responded to a vehicle break-in on Bridge Street.
  • At 1:44 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident on Highland Avenue. Lawrence J. Ianetta, 46, of 190 Lafayette St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting.
Other Arrest:

Belinda C. Todisco, 21, of 30 Walter St., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
