Alleged Shoplifter Arrested at Salem Walmart

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log:


Friday, July 19

  • At 4:52 p.m., police responded to a report of "all sorts of animals in a yard and house" on Jackson Street. The city's building inspector was notified.
  • At 5:33 p.m., police responded to a report of a disoriented man near the intersection of Derby and Hardy streets.
  • At 8:44 p.m., police responded to a dispute on Washington Street.
  • At 9:33 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident at the Walmart on Highland Avenue. Anna C. Koufos, 28, of 210 Lynnway, Revere, was arrested on charges of trespassing and for reportedly having three outstanding warrants.
  • At 10:58 p.m., police responded to a fight in the parking lot on Loring Avenue.

Saturday, July 20

  • At 2:01 a.m., police made an arrest on Washington Street. Hallie E. Albani, 20, of 33 Green St., Gloucester, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct.
  • At 4:23 a.m., police responded to a report of a person sleeping on the sidewalk on Washington Street. A man was placed into protective custody.
  • At 8:50 a.m., police responded to a report of a sick raccoon on Federal Street.
  • At 11:28 a.m., police responded to a report of a rabid raccoon on River Street.
  • At 1:30 p.m., police responded to a report of prescription fraud on Canal Street. Liza Freiman, 23, of 16 Reid Terrace, Swampscott, was arrested on charges of forgery, uttering a false prescription and attempting to commit a crime. 
  • At 3:36 p.m., police responded to a dispute on Summit Avenue.
