Road Rage Arrest Uncovers Phony $100s

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department: 

Monday, July 8

  • At 4:54 p.m., police stopped a motor vehicle on New Derby Street. Katherine V. Reyes, 34, of 391 Atlantic Ave., Marblehead, was arrested on a charge of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
  • At 5:43 p.m., police stopped a motor vehicle on Norman Street. Daniel W. Wright Jr., 21, of 344 Essex St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of possessing a class A substance (heroin) subsequent offense. Gina M. Wright, 26, of 20 Jordan St., Beverly, was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle with an expired inspection sticker and possessing a class A substance (heroin).
  • At 6:24 p.m., police responded to a report of a cat struck by a motor vehicle on Summer Street.
  • At 6:46 p.m., a hypodermic needle was discovered on Washington Square South.
  • At 7:33 p.m., a woman called police to report that her bicycle was stolen from a bike rack on Heritage Drive.
  • At 7:43 p.m., police received word that a 7-year-old boy had been bitten on the finger by a chihuahua at a park on First Street.
  • At 9:04 p.m., police responded to a report of past break-in on Fairmount Street. 
  • At 11:57 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Dow Street. Jiapeng Li, 29, of 10 Dow St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.


Tuesday, July 9

  • At 6:38 a.m., police received word that someone damaged several trucks overnight in a secure yard on Jefferson Avenue.
  • At 8:33 a.m., the manager at Bunghole Liquors on Derby Street showed police where a small pile of cardboard boxes were burned against the building overnight.
  • At 9:36 a.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious man near the intersection of Salem and Leavitt streets.
  • At 10:32 a.m., a Buffum Street resident called police to report that their pool filter was stolen overnight. 
  • At 1:42 p.m., police responded to a report of a loose dog on Memorial Drive.
  • At 2:36 p.m., police located a woman known to have an outstanding warrant hiding behind a dumpster on Boston Street. Amy A. Jackson, 28, of 2 Pierce Ave., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 3:39 p.m., police located a man known to have an outstanding warrant on Lafayette Street. William M. Fontaine, 24, of the streets of Salem, was arrested for reportedly having two outstanding warrants.
  • At 4:03 p.m., an off-duty police officer noticed a man exit his vehicle and punch another motorist during a road rage incident on Jefferson Avenue. After the man was placed under arrest, police found that he was in possession of two counterfeit $100 dollar bills. John M. Galvin, 22, of 8 Sunset Drive, Beverly, was arrested on charges of assault and battery, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, two counts of possessing counterfeit bills and for reportedly having two outstanding warrants.
