Salem Police Make Warrant Arrest

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: 


Thursday, March 6:

  • At 4:24 p.m., police responded to a minor motor vehicle accident involving a police cruiser near the intersection of Bridge and North streets.
  • At 5:01 p.m., police responded to a disturbance on Weatherly Drive.
  • At 5:29 p.m., police responded to a fight on Winter Island Road. One person was placed under arrest on charges of domestic assault and battery and two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
  • At 5:40 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Langdon Street.
  • At 6:12 p.m., police responded to a dispute on Prince Street.
  • At 6:39 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Marion Road.
  • At 8:51 p.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Mason Street.
  • At 9:10 p.m., police responded to a report of an erratic operator on Highland Avenue.
  • At 9:47 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Norman Street.

Friday, March 7:
 
  • At 1:26 a.m., police responded to a loud house party on Perkins Street.
  • At 1:45 a.m., police responded to a loud party on Harris Street.
  • At 3:05 a.m., police responded to a noise complaint on First Street.
  • At 3:34 a.m., police responded to a water main break on Highland Avenue.
  • At 9:48 a.m., police responded to a report of an erratic operator on North Street.
  • At 11:28 a.m., police responded to a report of a problem with an employee on Broad Street.
  • At 12:46 p.m., police responded to a medical emergency on Federal Street.
  • At 1:11 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Lafayette Street.
  • At 1:31 p.m., an officer disposed of a hypodermic needle on Federal Street. 
  • At 1:56 p.m., an officer disposed of a hypodermic needle on Winthrop Street.
  • At 2:30 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident on New Derby Street.
  • At 4:05 p.m., police responded to a report of harassment on Derby Street.
  • At 4:16 p.m., police conducted a well-being check near the intersection of School and Buffum streets.
Arrest

Wesley R. Smith III, 34, of 13 Harbor St., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
