Salem Police Charge Lynn Man With Threats to Kill

A Lynn man was arrested on an assault with a dangerous weapon charge Monday night.

A Lynn man accused of threatening to kill a woman with a firearm Monday night was arrested on Loring Avenue in Swampscott and turned over to Salem police.

Miguel A. Baez, 22, of 3 Milton St., Lynn, was arrested on charges of domestic assault and battery, assault with a dangerous weapon (firearm) and two counts of threatening to commit a crime (murder).

At 9:14 p.m., police responded to a report of a man threatening others with a firearm at 54 Perkins St.

After a be-on-the-look-out alert was sent out to surrounding police departments, Salem State University police officers and Swampscott police reportedly stopped a gray 2005 Nissan Altima on Loring Avenue.

Baez was placed under arrest without incident and no weapon was found during the traffic stop, Salem Lt. Scott Englehardt said Tuesday night.

Salem Patch will post additional information as it becomes available.
