Salem Man Charged with Drinking Vodka at Wendy's

The following are excerpts from the Salem police log. An arrest or charge does not indicate a conviction.

Salem police arrested the following individuals April 10-11:

  • Maria Espaillat, of Salem, was arrested on a warrant.
  • Jaime Macario, of Lynn, was charged with operating a vehicle without a license and failure to yield.
  • Heath Brooks, of Salem, was charged with drinking in public. Police said he was observed drinking a bottle of Ruble vodka in front of the Wendy's on Peabody Street at about 11:20 a.m. on Fri., April 11.
  • Michael Burgess, of Lynn, was charged with operating a vehicle after suspension and not obeying a stop sign.
  • Kevin Johnson, of Stoughton, was charged with OUI and a marked lane violation.
  • John Lapointe, of Salem, was charged with drinking in public.
The following are excerpts from the police log:

Thur., April 10

  • 1:06 a.m. Police responded to Northey Street for a report of a suspicious van. It turned out to be a woman waiting for a friend.
  • 2:27 a.m. A vehicle was repossessed on Bridge Street. It was erroneously reported as stolen.
  • 7:22 a.m. A man said he was the victim of a telephone scam.
  • 8:30 a.m. A man was reported to be sleeping in a garage on Forest Avenue. The person was gone when police arrived.
  • 8:40 a.m. A two-car crash happened on Boston Street.
  • 4:16 p.m. A man said a woman stole $700 from his apartment on Endicott Street.
  • 7:35 p.m. An unwanted solicitor was reported on Rainbow Terrace.

Fri., April 11

  • 5:46 a.m. A woman reported her car was broken into on Looney Avenue. She said her wallet and GPS were stolen.
  • 6:53 a.m. A man reported her vehicle was broken into on Proctor Street. He said $10 in loose change was stolen.
  • 7:52 a.m. Copper downspouts were reported stolen from Warren Street.
  • 8:15 a.m. A road rage incident was reported on Bridge Street.
  • 11:53 a.m. A caller reported drug activity on Margin Street.
  • 1:45 p.m. A man was reportedly using binoculars in a vehicle on Traders Way.
  • 3:18 p.m. A woman said two pairs of sneakers and a Playstation 3 were stolen on Salem Street. The woman said she believed her granddaughter's boyfriend stole the items.
