Salem Man Sentenced to State Prison for Rape

Brito will serve six to eight years for the 2008 crime according to the DA.

A Salem man has been sentenced to six and a half to eight years in state prison for rape, according to the .

Rafael Nina Brito, 22, was found guilty on March 30 and sentenced on Friday in Superior Court.

On Feb. 15, 2008, the DA said Brito and three others "offered a 17-year-old Salem girl a ride home from a basketball game." The girl was brought to Lynn and raped in Brito's mother's apartment, according to the DA.

Luis Arias, 22, and Justin Louf, 21, also of Salem pleaded guilty to aggravated rape in March.

A Lynn resident, who is a fourth co-defendant, is slated to begin his trial on June 20 of this year.
