Police Searching for Man Who Allegedly Dragged, Ran Over Girlfriend

Police are asking anyone with information on Daniel Rodriguez to contact the Salem Police Department.

are asking for the public's help locating a Jamaica Plains man who was charged with attempted murder after police said he allegedly dragged his girlfriend 393 feet on Federal Street before running her over.

Daniel Rodriguez, 22, with a last known address of 250 Hyde Park Ave. #2 in Jamaica Plain, has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated domestic assault and battery, unarmed robbery and operating after a license revocation.

At 4:54 p.m. Thursday, police said they responded on a report of a woman being dragged by a vehicle.

Witnesses said they saw a man beating a victim and dragging her with the car while he was driving.

A witness said she tried to make the man stop. At one point, police said the victim allegedly had her foot stuck between the seat and pillar in the car and was hanging halfway out of the vehicle while being dragged on the pavement.

The woman eventually fell out of the car at 110 Federal St. and police said the car ran over the woman's arm.

When they arrived, police said the woman had a black eye and cuts on her face.

Police are asking for help locating Rodriguez, who is described as 5'9" and 145 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He was driving and unknown white rental car at the time.
