The responded to the following calls and made the following arrests on Thursday and Friday.

Thursday, April 26

5:46 p.m. — An attempted break-in was reported on Ward Street. Police said a front apartment door was kicked in, but no entry was gained.

7:06 p.m. — Police said an officer was on duty when he saw a man enter "and then re-emerge just moments later running to a vehicle."
Police said the officer saw the man running with a bag and suspected he had just shoplifted. The officer was able to get the license plate number of the vehicle, but he was not able to turn around in time to stop the vehicle because of the traffic congestion and the rate of speed at which the man left the lot. Police said they were able to identify the man and confirm he shoplifted with the assistance of the Marblehead Police Department.

8:38 p.m. — A suspicious man looking into a vehicle with a flashlight was reported on Lafayette Street.

11:19 p.m. — Larceny of frozen food was reported on Salem Street. Police said a man reported another man "left his apartment with a $5 frozen steak." Police were not able to locate the man and they advised the caller to seek a complaint in court for the $5. Police said the man who allegedly stole the steak left the resident "a box of frozen mozzarella sticks (25 count)." The caller said he was moving the next day and would talk to the man, who is a friend.

Friday April 27
