Police Release Photo of Alleged Armed Carjacker

Wednesday released a photo of a man they believe is responsible for armed carjackings in Salem and Peabody.

is facing charges of carjacking, larceny of a motor vehicle, two counts of assault and battery by a dangerous weapon and four counts of larceny of property over $250 in connection with a carjacking that occurred in Salem Tuesday afternoon.

Officers at approximately 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. Scanner reports indicated , and the suspect fled in a black truck, which was located with four missing tires on Federal Street.

Morales was later arrested at his home, where tires were found. 

to investigate the suspect's possible involvement in an almost identical carjacking that occurred in Peabody Sunday. Tools were stolen in that incident.

Morales has been scheduled for a court appearance today.
