Salem Police Make 15 Weekend Arrests

The following was provided by the Salem Police Department. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The responded to the following calls and made the following arrests on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Friday Arrests

Jeffrey Brown, 64, of 21 Lyman St. in Beverly was arrested on a domestic assault charge. He was also arrested on a warrant.

Nicholas Howard Cowley, 33, of 56 Margin St. was arrested on charges of trespassing, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Nicholas DeForrest, 22, who is listed as homeless, was arrested on charges of larceny and breaking a vehicle in the daytime with intent to commit a felony.

Anthony Gilber Goodwin, 27, of 286 Washington St. was arrested on two warrants.

Anthony Loez-Piris, 28, of 1 Dennis St. in Peabody was arrested on charges of failing to stop for police, speeding and negligent operation.

Saturday, June 9

12:53 a.m. — An officer responded to a large group fighting on Derby Street.

1:19 a.m. — A loud party was reported on Ocean Avenue.

1:29 a.m. — Threats were reported on Lafayette Street.

1:45 a.m. — Police received a call a sink was torn from the wall at the .

5:35 a.m. — A bicycle chained to a dumpster was reported on Washington Street.

6:12 a.m. — Police received a call a man was causing a disturbance in the . Police said the man agreed to quiet down.

8:26 a.m. — A dispute between landlord and tenant over a bucket of oil left in the driveway was reported on Ocean Avenue.

8:56 a.m. — Cones in the road were reported at Essex and Becket streets.

9:31 a.m. — A dent in a car door was reported on Prince Street.

10:14 p.m. — A scooter laying on its side was reported in a parking lot on Pope Street.

11:02 a.m. — A man taking photos of the power plant was reported on Fort Avenue. Police said the man said he was "taking pictures of the plant because it is closing down soon and he wants something to remember it."

11:28 a.m. — Police said a man was arrested while breaking into a vehicle and stealing a bag on North Street.

11:59 a.m. — Police received a call a car was keyed on Porter Street.

12:38 p.m. — Stolen vehicle rims were reported on Mason Street.

1:57 p.m. — A possibly rabid raccoon was reported, but police said they were not able to locate it.

2:19 p.m. — A past break-in to a car in the parking lot was reported.

4:44 p.m. — Threats were reported on Harbor Street.

5:19 p.m. — A possibly rabid squirrel was reported on Hayes Road. Police said there was a deceased chipmunk, and it was thrown into the woods.

6:06 p.m. — Suspicious people were reported at Essex and Summer streets. A person reported she was the victim of a magazine scam.

6:43 p.m. — A suspicious woman in a green shirt was reported on Mansell Park.

7:38 p.m. — Kids throwing rocks were reported on Congress Street. Police said they spoke with an employee of a business who said he saw kids breaking windows to the back of the business. Police spoke with the parents of the kids, and they told them they would work something out to take care of the windows.

9:07 p.m. — Fireworks in the road were reported on Charles Street.

9:49 p.m. — Fireworks were reported on Rainbow Terrace.

11:48 p.m. — Road rage was reported on Congress Street.

Saturday Arrests

Erica Buonopane, 37, of 9 Goodell St. was arrested on a charge of assault and battery of an elderly or disabled person.

Joseph Crasco, 25, of 56 Margin St. was arrested on charges of trespassing and receiving stolen property.

Charles Derochemont IV, 32, of 24 Judson St. in Beverly was arrested on three warrants.

Luiz F. Fagundes Jr., 22, of 4 Kimball Ct. in Woburn was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Kimberly Gregware, 38, of 95 Green St. in Marblehead was arrested on a warrant.

Luis Sosa-Valentin, 31, of 29 Perkins St. was arrested on charges of assault and battery by a dangerous weapon, threatening to commit a crime and violation of the city knife ordinance.

Sunday, June 10

12:11 a.m. — A fight in the street was reported on Rawlins Street.

1:40 a.m. — Police said a large group fighting in the street was reported on Dow Street.

2:23 a.m. — A house party was reported on Buffum Street.

6:46 a.m. — Police said a woman possibly being assault was reported at a bus stop at North and Essex streets. Police said a man was just braiding a woman's hair.

6:59 a.m. — Police received a call someone drove on a back fairway at .

8:20 a.m. — Police received a call was egged overnight.

8:47 a.m. — A woman reported the flowers in her flower boxes were torn up the night prior.

1:54 p.m. — Harassment was reported on Hardy Street.

2:16 p.m. — Police received a call a bicyclist took money out of a victim's hand on Essex Street.

2:34 p.m. — A stolen wheelchair was reported on Pope Street.

Sunday Arrests

Eric Gonzalez, 17, of 38 Salem St. was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and transporting liquor as a minor.

Jay R. Oberman, 33, of 3-A Hart Way was arrested on charges of unarmed robbery and resisting arrest.

Harrison Ulysses Ortiz, 23, of 14 Harrison Ave. was arrested on a disorderly conduct charge.

Max Terenzi, 21, of 7 Cushing St. was arrested on two charges of violating the city knife ordinance.
