Police: K9 Officer Turbo Tracks Down Swampscott B&E Suspect

A Salem Police Department K9 unit helped locate a suspected burglar in Swampscott Sunday.

One of the Salem Police Department's K9 units successfully located an alleged burglar in Swampscott early Sunday morning.

At 1:24 a.m., officer Tim Salvo and his K9 partner, Turbo, responded to Humphrey Street in Swampscott to assist officers there with a search for breaking and entering suspects that had reportedly fled the area on foot.

After locating a scent, Turbo reportedly led Salvo to a deck in a nearby backyard and one of the suspects was found hiding underneath it. The man was reportedly placed under arrest and was positively identified by a witness to the alleged break-in.

Salem Patch will post additional information as it becomes available.
