Peeping Tom Reported on High Street

Wednesday, Jan. 25

4:41 p.m. — A person sleeping on Washington Street was reported. Police said a man sleeping in front of a building was located and moved along.

5:48 p.m. — Police checked on a man seeping in a vehicle. Police said he was just napping before his doctor's appointment.

6:29 p.m. — A shoplifter was reported at . Police said the loss prevention manager reported a woman paid for a few items and placed two in her sweatshirt before walking out the door. Police said the items were returned, and the woman was issued a no trespass order.

7:06 p.m. — Police said a peeping tom was reported on High Street. Residents said a man had looked into a bathroom. Both said that he talked and yelled as he walked. They were both asked to call if he returns. Police searched and were not able to locate the man.

7:08 p.m. — A bag of needles was reported on a Cypress Street sidewalk. Police said they were retrieved and disposed of properly.

8:20 p.m. — A house fire was reported on Woodbury Court. responded. Police said there was no house fire but a chimney fire, which was contained.

8:35 p.m. — Police responded to a shoplifting incident at the

9:15 p.m. — Police said a possible kitchen fire was reported on Flint Street. The Salem Fire Department responded and police said the issue was with a dishwasher malfunction. The house was ventilated.

9:27 p.m. — Larceny of electronics at an Orchard Street home was reported.

10:09 p.m. — A Good Hope Lane resident reported the smell of smoke in her home. The Fire Department responded and determined it was an issue with the dishwasher.

11:33 p.m. — Malicious destruction to a vehicle on Buffum Street was reported.

Thursday, Jan. 26

12:38 a.m. — Damage to a Pope Street door was reported.

8:22 a.m. — A motor vehicle break-in was reported on Bay View Avenue. Police said skis were stolen from the vehicle.

9:10 a.m. — Police said , was arrested on Gallows Hill Road on a fugitive from justice warrant for being a deserter from the US Navy.

11:14 a.m. — Past larceny was reported on Boston St.

11:33 a.m. — A lost/stolen wallet was reported on Federal Street.

3:10 p.m. — Harassment was reported on Highland Avenue.

5:57 p.m. — A possibly intoxicated man was reported on a Lafayette Street sidewalk. Police said the man was laid out in the bushes in front of the and he was extremely intoxicated. He was placed in protective custody.
